On the one hand, I won't exist so no pain, no knowledge, no problem.

On the other, if I went to hell there's more of a chance of me coming back to life like Spawn, so hell. :)

I'd pick oblivion any day.

Think about it; you were in oblivion before you were born. Was it all that bad? Of course not! Neither was it good. It's just nonexistence.

Personally, I see it as complete freedom; being forever released from the endless pursuit of happiness, no longer burdened by the cares and worries associated with living (in this life or in any hypothetical afterlife).

To compare oblivion to Hell is like comparing zero to negative infinity. Zero is always greater than negative infinity.

Well nothingness, because that's what happens because hell is described as the worst thing imaginable, and you might meet Michael Atkinson down there....

Right now I'm kinda living with both. I'm felling pretty empty and everything outside of that emptiness is torment and pain...and I'm not even dead. Wow I suck at life right now :(

You're saying you'd prefer burning for all eternity to just... dying like a normal person?

That's... worring.

Lets see... consciousness is defined as your mental processes and such, the ONLY way to lose consciousness completely is to die. At which point it wouldn't matter, you wouldn't think, see, or feel. No pain, no thoughts, you can't even detect the absence of them because well, you can't think or feel.

That >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hell

Good day to you, sir.

I actually believe nothingness is what happens to when you die if you're good (i.e., it's my version of Paradise). If you are too attached to material things you become a ghost and wander the earth, unable to touch it and being followed by idiots making cable TV shows. If you manage to free yourself, you become one with the Universe, which means there's no more 'you' to speak of.

So, nothingness, I guess.

I don't see why nonexistence would be so horrible, you won't be there to be bothered by it. I'm hoping there is nothing after death.

isnt pugatory the same thing??

OT: ummmmm, both scares the jesus out of me.... do do chhhh.
No, purgatory is like a place where you atone for your sins and then have the possibility to go to Heaven. I can't really recall any description of it, but as far as I know, there's no fire or torchure.

I choose Hell, mostly because many non-Christian religions have hell that you can ACTUALLY GET OUT OF. Christianity is one of the few (as far as I know) where you stay there forever. Other religions have going to Hell be given, followed by getting out depending during a given time period depending on how bad your sins were. Also, Dante's version of Hell was made up by him to spite people who did bad things to him. Some religions have layers of Hell that aren't bad at all (and other's that are extremely horrible).

So, yeah, go Hell. Maybe you can rise to become a Demon or something if your... "bad" enough?

A Nothingness afterlife just scares me shitless even more than Hell does. You won't even know your dead after you die. You're just gone. Completely erased from existence.
You didn't exist for an eternity before you were born. It didn't bother you then, did it?
