Speech,it can be very helpful and can get you out of akward situouns(dunno how to spell it correctly)

is that a Radscorpion from fallout 1 and 2?

OT: Speech, high luck and energy weapons. Get the right build and you can have pretty much a 100% critical hit chance.

And then you slaughter.

I never really bother with speech but I usually use barter so I can make the mad dollars as someone else said jury rigging is the greatest perk ever my combat skill is usually guns as they are the most versatile

How about trying to play as a Pacifist. Tag skills can be anything non-violent such as medicine, lockpick, speech, survival etc. The only rule of the playthrough is that you can't kill someone intentionally.

join the legion and focus on Repair (keeps your weapons in working order) Melee (because the of Legion,s signature weapon) and speech

Repair allows me to fix my crap, so I will go with Repair.

Speech is hands down the most useful across the game. Let's you get bonus rewards or talk your way into/out of things etc.

This. It's one of the main reasons I love the series. I can usually talk my way out of anything with a high enough Speech.

That bothered me a little though, how you could talk avoid almost every major confrontation if you had a high enough speech skill. It made the game way too easy.
