I'm currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition on Xbox one and I'm pretty close to the end after around 80 hours of gameplay.I'm struggling to decide what to start next so who better to help than the learned folks of the Escapists.I've narrowed it down to the 8 games in the poll so whichever gets the highest score will be what I play next.

Of course if anyone wants to suggest alternatives feel free to do so in the comments.I have an Xbox One,360,Wii U and PC and am open to playing most genres(although bear in mind my PC ain't the best so is really only good for older games or indies)

Thanks in advance

I voted Xenoblade Chronicles but that's really a vote for Xenoblade Chronicles X on the WiiU, which is actually not a sequel despite the title and does not require Xenoblade Chronicles to be played to understand since it's a self contained story. I've sunk 40 hours into it so far, am half way through the story and loving every moment of it.

I really should finish X, but fuck. It's just too long.
Well both are decent games, but god if I could find a copy of the first that isn't a ripoff I'd be a very happy man.

I voted for Ori, as it'll be a nice change of pace after the no doubt exhausting trawl through Inquisition.

Havent played all those in the list but honestly its unlikely to beat Xenoblade Chronicles for me. Xenoblade X is also good but not in the same league imo.

If you have even a passing interest in RPGs just play Xenoblade Chronicles. Other two games I would highly recommend from the Wii library are The Last Story and Mario Galaxy (just dont waste your time on MG2 imo). Note Mario Galaxy made pretty extensive use of the Wii controller (mostly gimmicky but fun stuff however some parts required it) so if you havent got one it may not be as good. Last Story may also suffer a bit but I think it will be fine.

If you play KOTOR2 get the fan made patch to restore loads of stuff before you start playing.

Quite enjoyed Inquisition to be honest.Wouldn't describe it as exhausting at all.

Somehow forgot to put in my OP that I do own a Wii so I've played and enjoyed both Galaxy games. As for The Last Story I'm waiting until they release it on Wii U as physical copies are pretty expensive

Xenoblade is currently winning....

I went Ori and the Blind Forest. I just found it to be such a delightful story and way more uplifting and satisfying compared to the grim dark games of dark grimy war.

And its a ton of fun as a puzzle platformer with a great soundtrack!

I know it's not on your list, but if you haven't played it already...

UNDERTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE.

It's a cheap game on Steam with very low PC requirements (it simulates retro graphics, right around SNES quality). I assume by the fact that you put 80 hours into Dragon Age you like games with lots of story and details. Well BOY HOWDY, is Undertale for you. It's much shorter than that, but the game is full of charm and cleverness, and has an amazing story to back it up. I won't spoil anything in case you know nothing about it, but with the battle system you can choose not to kill your enemies. How you play drastically changes the outcome of the game, and it has a lot of replay value. The three main paths are neutral, pacifist, and genocide. I recommend saving genocide for after a pacifist run, the story won't make a lot of sense if you don't finish that first.

Just kidding. The list just happens to be games I own(and is only a small sample) but I'm always up for new suggestions.I'll admit that I don't know a huge amount about Undertale as I'm primarily a console gamer but what I have heard has been overwhelmingly positive so it's on my radar.Maybe after Xenoblade seeing as that's still winning the poll...

Voted Xenoblade, but disclaimer in that it's the only one on the list that I've played. Heck, 80 hours and I still haven't finished it yet.

But that said, it gets my endorsement.

The only game on that list that I would recommend to anyone would be Ori and the Blind Forest.

I vote Xenoblade Chronicles as well. I liked both for different reasons, but if I had to pick a favorite out of the two, I would have to say X. Not because of the story, characters, or even the imagination of the setting (All three of which Xenoblade Chronicles does WAAAAY better). I like it more because of the movement. The movement in the game makes the game so much more enjoyable for me. In Xenoblade, you move slowly and jump pathetically. You basically just move up, they made a noise, and a short animation plays. In X, they don't just jump, they fucking LEAP. They bound into the air, arms flying in the wind as they rise and fall. I love it so much because it's so satisfying. The game also lets you sprint, which also lends itself to much more fun exploration. I've spent hours and hours just running from place to place in that game, and I love it because of that. But, if I had to recommend one of the two to someone, I would recommend Xenoblade Chronicles because it is simply the better game.

Combat is more engaging thanks to the secondary cool downs, overload is fantastic, and skells are fucking amazing. X is also more engaging. I picked up original for 3ds, played it a little and put it down, then picked it back up, enjoeyd for a bit, then got Xenoblade X and that consumed my life because it's so much more engaging and the open world is fucking amazing

Unfortunately this list does not contain the obvious choice.

The Little Digger That Could.

If there is more joy in spending a whole hour just trying to place one fucking block properly into the ground with a mechanical arm, I don't want to know what that is.

I like to alternate my games, meaning if I had just sunk 80 hours into an open-world RPG type title I'd probably want something a little different, or shorter, so I don't burn myself out on one genre (it's happened in the past). So I'd go something like Ori or Lone Survivor or something like that. Then jump into Xeno after, I'm sure that will soak up a good amount of time and attention after that.
