Well, its that time again.

I've got enough extra money to buy one extra before I have to save for the big three games I want this Fall. (FYI they're Section 8, H3:ODST, and Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition. These three are not up for debate.) Now, there are four things I want, and they all cost just about the same. They are:

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Left 4 Dead 2
Borderlands
The Cymbal Expansion Kit for Rock Band 2

The simple issue is I'm not sure what I'll get the most enjoyment out of. For B:AA, I played the demo and loved it. The reviews say the demo doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of the full game. I haven't played a stealth action game worth my time since Double Agent.

Left 4 Dead 2 seems like an obivous choice too. I loved the original L4D,and I'm pretty sure the new one will be just as good and fun. But I'm also worried I'll get tired of just playing the campaign over and since I can't deal (and don't want to) deal with the stupidity that pervaded the MP of the first L4D.

Borderlands looks awesome, but since I haven't played a demo or anything like that, and its main features seem kind of gimmicky or useless (Yay. Thousands/Millions of weapons. Only 20 of which will be useful, but hey, they're there.), and the co-op seems to be the other big draw....which will suck for me, having a friends list of 23 people, none of which will get the game.

The Cymbals Kit for RB2 looks like the most likely at this point. I like drums in RB2 (though I tend to play Guitar more), and the kit looks like it could make it alot more fun to play. In addition there are some of my few friends on my floor who love playing the drums (and are quit good at it) who would absolutely cream themselves at the sight my RB2 drums with the Cymbals Kit.

So I leave it your hands Escaptist. You get to spend my money. Pick wisely - and only from the choices above.

I'd say L4D 2, since you seem like a nice person and we need more nice people.
+ It's probably gonna be awesome!

Borderlands has 80 bazillion guns. L4D2 has a misinformed idea of what Co-Op should be. Can't speak for Batman or Rock band though.

I know I'm getting Borderlands as soon as it comes out. Will I be able to play co-op? Probably not. Will I use all of the guns? Probably not. Will I enjoy every second I get to watch that beautiful art style play out on my screen (See also: Okami)? HELL YES.

Batman. Buy it. Now.

The others seem a bit bad. L4D, I never really liked it enough to buy it. And I doubt L4D2 will be better. The Cymbals Kit sounds redundant.

And Borderlands... Well... I don't know about that one. Maybe?

I would also advise you not to get Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition. Just the regular version. But that's not up for debate.

I'd go with Batman. I haven't played it or the demo, but...shit, it looks so damn cool.

Just curious, how is it misinformed?

Well if Borderlands only has 20 good guns, it will be fun to find them. Also if none of your friends buy it, you can make new ones playing coop anyway. I think it's the best of the four because I'd play it more hours than both Batman and L4D2, because L4D2 would get real boring, just like the first one.

for me it wouldn't be hard, i'd pick batman cuz
i heard that L4D2 is just like an expansion pack but theyre trying to sell it as L4D"2"
*i heard, not sure*
borderlands, well i haven't really looked into that game but your point sounds good enough for me not to buy it.
and i don't really like music games.

that's my motivation to buy Batman out of those 4

It makes you completely reliant on your teammates, in co-op you should be able to hold your own; it should just be really difficult.

Of course its not up for debate. I need it t go along with my Mark VI helmet, Crimson Viper, Chris Redfield and various other CE edition items.

I'd say Rock Band, but I'm unsure as to whether they will abandon RB2 for The Beatles or if they will keep releasing DLC (preferably more "metal" DLC.)

Go with Arkham, just to be safe.

Batman is the only one that's out and not a complete freaking rip off ( seriously, cymbals?!). When the other two are out and playable we'll all know better, but until then it's conjecture.

But 'Co-op' modes like that are not co-op in the slightest, they're usually just 2-4 players playing on a map at the same time, one will always piss off into the distance and drag the others along.

L4D is co-op for precisely the reason you describe, instant death awaits anyone who thinks they can ' hold their own'.

Na na na na na na na na BATMAN.
Seriously. I got it, it's a bit short, but the combat is fun, so the challenge rooms are good, the stealth is tense, and the acting is very nice.

Also, he's the goddam Batman.
