I prefer TES, I just love a good medieval-ish fantasy setting. I love both games and have sinked more hours than what any of my real life friends would think is healthy, but damnit I love those games.

Mods are amazing for TES and Fallout too~

Fallout
- The Lore is Fascinating
- Combat is better than Elder Scrolls (i've only played Morrowind and Oblivion)
- Dark Humor
- The Music
- I enjoy Post-Apocalypse more than Fantasy

It's a close one but probably Elder Scrolls for me.
I love FO3 but NV was slightly disappointing without mods. Although i'm hoping the next fallout will be as good as Skyrim.

Infact Skryim automatically wins best Bethesda game for me simply because it has an animation for running diagonally, instead of the hilarious ice skating from previous games.

I also prefer exploring in Elder Scrolls games.
The first time playing fallout 3 was amazing but on replays EVERYTHING is the same greyed out wasteland or subways.
Even the more hostile and desolate places in Skryim are a thrilling to look at.

I have to vote elder scrolls. The elder scrolls world is lush, beautiful and so full of life. This is pretty much the opposite of fallout :p.

Fallout.

Skyrim is actually the more enjoyable game I'd say, but that's because the gameplay itself is just smoother and more satisfying as well as the graphics losing that plastic feeling they have in Fallout 3, Fallout: NV and Oblivion.

But when it comes to IP Fallout is, in my opinion, simply much better. It's just deeper and more rounded I think. It's simply more evocative I'd say. When I read much of the Elder Scrolls lore what I mostly think is "Eh, that's kinda cool I guess" with Fallout the reaction is much more likely to be "Dang! That's awesome!".

As much as i love the Elder Scrolls series (i've played way too much Oblivion), i find myself loving the Fallout world so much more.

New Vegas, when fully updated and with a few choice mods, becomes a truly stunning game that suits the engine so much better.
And sorry, but losing a battle twice and then finally going 'fuck it' on your next reload and whipping out your fat man is simply one of the best feelings ever. I'm a vindictive asshole, and saying 'fuck you and all your friends' is just so excellent.

So yeah. Elder Scrolls is a great series, but i find myself playing New Vegas more than Skyrim. Hell, if NV had destructible environments and some more content i'd pretty much play nothing else.

I'm gonna put in a vote for Fallout. As much as I love being able to customize your character and playstyle in the Elder Scrolls the world just isn't as interesting as the Wastelands of Fallout.
Hopefully Bethesda can take a leaf out of Obsidian's writing and will be able to provide the same amount of darkness and love to the lore that Fallout: New Vegas gave us and will be able to throw in the open world exploration and random bounty-hunting that I love in Skyrim for Fallout 4.

Have to vote fallout.
Always after playing an elder scrolls game i will come out of it and think, what have i done with the last six hours of my life...etc

With Fallout you dont get that, you feel imersed by the background, the setting and the characters of the wasteland. (Though the fact people still havn't cleaned up in 200 years does annoy me a little, but what can you do there americans, the leading modern day country that has still not cleaned up the mess after hurricane katrina in new orleans)

The Elder Scrolls. I quite enjoyed FO3 and NV, but the setting doesn't click with me as much.

Also: bows are best.

For me it is Elder Scrolls by a nose. I really loved Fallout and Vegas, but I have been having so much non-stop fun with Skyrims world. The wasteland can be fun to explore the first time round, but after finding the quirky locations I would just fast travel everywhere. In Skyrim, I don't mind actually walking across the whole map because it is pretty and the weather effects can add a nice change of scenery.

Fallout = Style, Pizzaz, Grey on Grey Morality, Over The Top, Menacing, Adventurous, Hilarious Welcoming & Radioactive

Elder Scrolls = Let's Play in Uncle Tolkien's Garden!! YAAY!! .... how boring...

Fallout for its variety of equipment and superior levelling system. Thanks to those in FO3 & NV I didn't find all of my characters becoming the same in the endgame.

TES has never let you be a talker. You can't be a man of reason and peace, you have no choice but to kill your fellow man. On that grounds, Fallout is a better RPG.

I'm not a particularly big fan of brown world post-apocalyptic environments, so my choice can only be Elder Scrolls.

That said, if Bethesda were to make an early-history (think Old Kingdom Egypt, Sumeria, Assyria, Greece, Hatti) sandbox RPG, that would quickly supersede Elder Scrolls on my favorite list.

I played Fallout 3 and never NV, but I got bored of FO3 after about 20 hours. ES is more fun for me becuase I like high fantasy settings over apocalyptic ones.

Well, Fallout as an IP contains games made by people that can actually design RPG mechanics and write, so Fallout on balance. But Morrowind gets an honorable mention for the sheer "jump every mountain, make every spell, loot every dungeon" factor.
