From 1 to 6, 1 being the best and 6 being the worst.

#1: Nr.6 (This really looks like it could have been made in 1915, no questions asked, and while not super relevant to the game, it just looks so good!)
#2: Nr.2 (Just amazing. I like it's older style, and it's very relevant to the theme of the game)
#3: Nr.4 (It's cool and stylized, but perhaps a bit too artsy fartsy for me, since I can't quite see the details on the black monster thingy)
#4: Nr.5 (I like this one. It looks like it's for perhaps more traditional adventure, but it still looks good.)
#5: Nr.3 (It's the same as the original, but with the chick behind him)
#6: Nr.1 (This one looks like it's for a dating sim)

If these were his original choices I can see why Levine just picked a dude with a gun. It's very well drawn dude with a gun.

#1 Poor man's romance novel

#2 Children's horror book cover. Should be on the next Goosebumps book.

#3 Forced and redundant. Maybe viewed as sexist. Screams 'Hey, baby, let the man handle this.'

#4 Should be an insert, not a videogame cover. Too much red, makes me uneasy(seriously). Might not buy, I won't support those commies in China.

#5 Girl looking shocked with some jerk behind her. Don't get it.

#6 Artsy fartsy(pretentious?) but shouldn't be on the cover of a videogame. Europeans and gaming snobs will like it.

They could have still came up with something better.

Personally I prefer this one:

I've always had a soft spot for designs/images with a small character facing a much larger one.
That's my preference as well. #4 is interesting, but it just SCREAMS 1970's fantasy/sci-fi book cover to me. It's not an art style I ever personally engaged with.

#2 is alright. The other 3 are various shades of dreadful and no real improvement on the mangun cover that had everyone scoffing to begin with.

You know, there is a difference between pointing out that something sucks, complaining about something, and declaring something to be the end of the world.

I... just felt the need to point that out. The "Ohhh, are we really complaining about this now?" response irritates the living shit out of me.
Yep. I said something like that [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/7.395988.16106147] in the news article on this yesterday. I don't see how people mistake minor complaints as being epic rage. This clearly wasn't a case of the latter.

OT: I like the second one most, though the sixth is good too. Not really crazy about all the red in the fourth one.
