Are you interested in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale?

I am curious to see if anyone on this board is interested in this game. I will admit that this is a very shameless rip-off of smash brothers. Despite having a lot cool exclusive IPs, Sony does not have as many iconic characters as Nintendo.

That said, I think this has potential to be amazing. I hope they attempt to create a single player experience similar to what Brawl had along with the craziness of Melee's multiplayer. Also decent online multiplayer also has potential to be totally fucking awesome.

Edit: Also they need to announce Ico as a playable character

i'm really excited for it, but not quite day-one purchase. The size of their roster doesn't matter that much considering they've already stuck Big Daddy in, and Bioshock was originally an Xbox exclusive game if you remember, stick some universes like Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter and I think we may have a winner! :D

also how awesome would it be if they got some Silent Hill 2 characters in there, imagine Pyramid vs Kratos, damn it i'm already excited for this

Looks okay. Not a day 1 purchase for me, but will likely end up getting it at some point.

voted Somewhat interested.

Not really, I don't like Smash Bros style fighters.

I'm sure it will be a fun game for those who like that formula, and Smash Bros isn't the first/only game with that type of gameplay. I just don't like the cluster-fuckness of those types of games, and prefer more "hardcore" and "technical" fighters.

The main thing that irks me about this game though it that it just doesn't gel together like Smash Bros does. Smash Bros cast just gels together well while this is more akin to MUGEN if you get what I'm saying.

When you make a crossover fighter, it's not as simple as just taking two or more ideas, and slapping them together. Some things work, and others don't, and that's what bothers me about this game the most.

This is not my style of game, but the roster and the videos released so far have really got my interest picked. I don't know about Day 1, but I will be buying it.

Looks pretty fun, and being on Playstation it might actually have half-decent online play (unlike SSBB). I rarely buy games on release though.

Nah, not my kind of thing.

Incidentally, I feel kind of sorry for whoever was in charge of coming up with characters. They clearly had a bit of a struggle.

Hell, the coolest character there isn't even especially associated with the Playstation.

I want to actually get my hands on the controller and grasp the concept of this game (i.e. what makes it similar to SSBB and what sets it apart). The roster is okay in the sense that there are a variety of characters that are iconic to those faithful the the Playstation series, just not sure if it would hold up in a fighting game.

I'll definitely rent thins when available to see if it is worth purchasing.

Not a PS3 owner but I am a fighting game fan so I'll weight in anyway. Heh

I'm somewhat interested. I'm not really one for party fighters to a large degree, but I do generally have fun when I play them if I can get in the right mindset. The reveal of Big Daddy actually gives me a character I would like to play and there are some solid fighting game minds involved in the games creation so even if the engine doesn't end up being the deepest, it should be solid.

It's not something that I'd ever consider buying a PS3 for, but if I had one I'd definitely consider buying it and would almost guarantee a purchase if I found it in the $30 range.

I'm still not sure I even believe that this is actually happening, to be honest. COverage and trailers and whatnot be damned, I'm amazed as hell that no lawsuits are flying yet, and the fact that the roster even contains NON-EXCLUSIVE-TO-SONY stuff (Big Daddy? Really? Bioshock WAS on the 360 as well!)really makes me think this whole thing is an elaborate hoax to troll Sony Fanboys.

Throw in some more classic characters and we shall see. (They will probably be DLC though >_>)

I have never played a SSB game so I would like to try one. Still hoping they announce one for 3DS.

No. Never much liked the SSB games, and none of my favorite PS characters have yet been shown (though kicking the shit out of Nathan Drake is very tempting).

I agree with the OP, it does have a lot of potential. Plus I can finally use Kratos to beat the shit out of Nathan Drake.

I'm not particularly excited for the game but it has potential to be good. Sony does the multiplayer aspect much better than Nintendo does, so that's already a plus for this game over Smash Brothers. Still, while Sony's characters are interesting, they aren't zany in the way the way that fighting game characters usually are, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of unifying theme to the characters so they all seem kind of out of place together, which might kill the aesthetics of the game.

So far I like what I'm seeing. I wanna see more of the roster and any other unique features before I make a definite decision on whether to buy it or not.

Considering how most fighting games nowadays have rosters of 25+ characters, I'm sure there will be more.

I made the optimistically hopeful option but I want to see what the final product looks like before buying it in case of a massive screw-up *cough everything in street fighter x tekken cough*

For the most part, no.

Im just into proper 2D fighters such as Street Fighter, and not into the SSB style of 2D fighters.
