I have no problem with guys watch a show like My Little pony. I'm all for not conforming to genders roles.
What bugs me is that they're like those gay guys who go on and on and on and on about being gay. Or those black guys that, if you disagree with them on anything, instantly accuse you of being racist.
I don't care who someone has sex with.
I don't care what the colour of someones skin is.
And I don't care if you watch a cartoon intended for little girls.
Why do you insist on going on about it?
Power to you and all, but in all three cases it just seems insecure.

Ah, here he is. The thread necromancer.
:p It certainly worked, didn't it? I'd have to hope he just clicked on a random number in the topic index and saw this topic rather than actually clicking all the way back through the index to something that was last bumped in July.

Pfft. My Little Pony.

Care Bears were being friendly and caring before it was cool.

Or maybe he actually used the search bar. I've heard of it happening in ages past, but I never thought to live to see it myself.

The last topic I found myself reading that was way too old to bother commenting beneath had popped up in the "Required Reading" section of the front page. Think it was from way back in August of 2010. So I ended up just making a new topic (My Problem With Blizzard...) about it and got a surprisingly large response to it. Made me all warm and fuzzy inside since that topic was officially the first topic I had made on these forums and it managed to strike up a rather large conversation.

Hi! While using the search bar is a good habit to get into, please try not to 'necro' threads from a while back. Make sure you check the date of the first post. =P

This one isn't so bad, since it's only from last year. Just watch out for it in the future.

Also, (belated) welcome to the Escapist!

thank you Sky.
Protip: There's a quote button in the bottom right of each post. Using quotes will send a message to the person's inbox (as you probably noticed) rather than relying on them to check the thread again and see your post. It makes having an extended conversation more convenient.

And, of course welcome to the Escapist. Be sure to read the rules. I find that new users run afoul of the low-content rule most often so I'll quote it here.

A well-made thread or a well-written comment engages its audience and facilitates discussion. We do ask that posters take just a little time to make their posts as readable as possible and keep their responses on topic. We also ask that you take a moment to check your spelling and grammar. Here are a couple things to avoid:
Low Content Posts
This could be anything from simply answering a question to posting LOL. These forums are used for discussion and low content posts halt discussion. In order to participate in conversation one should present an explanation of the reasoning that informs your opinion. "I like pie" isn't an argument. The fact that you like pie is well and good, but why do you like that pie? This explanation offers others an opportunity to respond to your opinion and avoids forum spam.
Pictures, Links and Videos
These will all be considered low content posts if not accompanied by a well thought out opinion, debate or reasoning. Pics, links and videos should help to strengthen your stance or opinion, not the other way around.
That probably sounds intimidating but in practice just make sure to write at least one complete sentence in every post and you'll be fine.
