Hahaa, it's cool!Velocirapture07 said:I'm sorry it looks like I'm post stalking you but I'm just wasting time in class... Just had to say I totally agree with the experimental themed punk thing, I can't stand that stuff. That made me laugh though.ix_tab said:There is no genre of music that uniformly sucks*. I used to think I didn't like hip hip or rap, but it's a story telling style of music, and when I listened to some Aussie stuff, with relevance to my every day life, I gained a new appreciation of the genre.
It's never a good idea to close off to anything new.
*Except experimental themed punk. Take your pretentious art-wank noise outta my face.
Oh experimental themed punk, my musical nemesis. There's an Aussie band called the Red Paintings, who I've had the misfortune to see twice, opening for bands I love enought to endure any cruddy opener.
The majority of the band wear kabuki styled make up, and kimonos, the lead singer wears a leather deerstalker hat, and a green coat with toy babies stapled to it.
And then they combine a lack of musical talent with a voice like a whining dog and lyrics that couldn't be more tryhard and 'edgy'.
And then there is the painting that is done whilst the band performs.
It all combines to create a band that have interesting elements and come together to be so calculated and cynical in their 'randomness'. It's unnerving and unpleasant and why I hate experimental theme punk.
