Whats the point in trade ins? If the game's been out for longer than 2 weeks, you'll be lucky to get 5$ for it

I've only traded a game in once, and that was because it was unbearably shit. I've kept loads of shit games, but this one was so intolerable I had to get rid of it. I love to keep games, though.

There should be some middle ground where I trade some games but keep the ones I absolutely love.

I replay old games a fair bit, so I'd hate to get rid of a game only to find a few weeks later that I really want to play it again. Also, I'm a PC-only gamer, so most of my games get extended way beyond their original playtime through mods. Besides which, stores won't usually let you trade in PC games, they'll only take console titles.

I never used to trade in games, then Gamestop had a double price week and I traded a ton of stuff in.

I still occasionally regret it when I go to play an old game and find out I sold it.

That said I did get money for those losses. Not a ton but probably what they were actually worth.

Trade ins? God no, however, I craigslist EVERYTHING. I buy games new for 60 bucks and Ebay them off about 14 days later when I've done everything in the game. Brand new AAA game (with collector stuff kept) for only 14 bucks? Yes!

but because I don't want to encourage Gamestop. I'll trade games with individuals, but Gamestop can die in a fire.
Why not?
(I'm not arguing with you, I'm just curious~)
Because Gamestop is a leech on the industry, and the sooner we pour salt on it, the better.

Nope I did twice both when I was younger and didn't really understand the value of money I traded a sega Saturn an 12 games for like 30 dollars a few years later I unloaded 2 unplayable games for like 4 dollars, I keep everything now I guess its a good thing I don't buy many poor games I like to have the ability to go back and replay them and I do quite regularly while waiting for new releases I just started replaying GTA 3 still fun but a lot easier and faster paced then I remember.

I've traded in two games in my life.

I tend to get a big collection and play them several times over if good enough. Typically as a system gets two generations old I'll give it and the games away to a friend who'll still get some use out of them or simply collects them. I might get the urge to play some of my older sold titles...but not enough to justify hoarding it when others could enjoy them more.

Due to backwards compatibility I sold my gamecube to a friend immediately after getting the Wii...but kept many of its great games.

When I was young, I used to be a trader, and then I realized later how much those games were good and miss them dearly.
That's when I discovered ROMs and relived parts of my nostalgia, but unable to play good ol' GC and such.
Also, if this may even by a side effect, every weapon I have ever used in Fallout NV is stored permanently inside my Novac motel room. I have no need for the money, and I can solve every situation with my current weapons, but I keep them just in case I want them.

Steam pretty much prevents me from doing this, but even if I could, I wouldn't. I still like going back and playing my ps2 games. I'd rather have them than the dollar GameStop would offer me.

I'm kinda torn between the two. All my old games I keep because they were gifts my family got me, or they are classics. The new ones I paid with my own cash and trade them in to invest in their sequels...

I'll trade in games at the local EB simply for cheaper games. Which is good, because trade-oin price is full price for a game that has come out within the last seven days, so I got rid of Driver SF (Not bad, but after you play around with the Shift ability for a while, you realise it's just Driver 1 only it looks better) and recieved one free (Ish) Dead Island, which I have currently spent fifteen hours on and have only reached the city, which is the second out of possibly four massive areas.

All my games are digital so I can't trade them. However I still own every PC game I've ever purchased, all the way back to the shareware version of Doom. However, I have traded or sold every single console game I owned over the years, including the consoles themselves. I used Ebay mostly.

Hoarder definitely, and not just games. I don't have a lot of money, but I do have stuff.

Though I did sell one game couple months ago, cause it pissed me off. I wanted to destroy it, but they gave me 4 euros...

i voted of course, but i would totally be a hoarder if i could afford the new games without selling the old ones.
