I'm 50/50. In my fallout games I have entire stashes of practically everything in the game, yet I also have a hoard of caps.

If it's rare, or in perfect condition, I store it away. If I already have it, goes to the traders. Though after a while, it gets a little boring. It takes me a good 3/4 seconds to scroll full speed through my Armour, weapon, misc and aid lockers within fallout.

I'm a PC Gamer so I can't trade in, however even when that was an option I never did.
I'm in the same boat, even more now because I buy almost exclusively from Steam.
But even if I had things I could trade, I still would never do it, it's a ripoff. The smart people resell their games used on Amazon.com or elsewhere.

Oh no, I like having all the games I ever bought! I even keep the games I didn't like... I also have too many games still wrapped up. I should really try to play all the games I have before bying new ones. Oh well...

I have the same problem with my DVD's as well. Can't let go even when I know I will never watch a particular film again.

Edit: typo

Very rarely, I'll sell games for cash or (in GAME or Gamestation) in-store credit, but only when it's a game that's been gathering dust on my shelf for Offler knows how long and that I never play. Otherwise, I like having a large choice of games to play, plus I'm one of those weird sorts that only buys stuff I'm sure I'll like and also tends to replay games every so often...

I think it was deeply routed in me at a very younge age not to trade my games into a store.

I remember being 13 or so and taking in about 20 games to trade into a EB games. They rang them in and they offered me 25 bucks for the lot. I was just shocked these were two year old games, good games, okay some 6/10's but not shitty games and that was it, A Big chunk of my collection for 25 bucks!!?

Even if I only pick up the games and play them for 2 hours randomly in life I get more entertainment than, what a buck a game?, this was when the games were heading back up to 69.99.

All I could do was look the clerk in the eye and say..
Pretty much this. I traded a few of my older gameboy games in so I could afford HL2 when it first came out. They give you shit all for them, then turn around and sell them at half of the RRP.

I never give my games to a game store anymore, you'll get more on Ebay if you decide to part with them.

In the long run, I think its worth the $5 to just keep them.

I play one game out of ten released (PC), one out of those ten is worth keeping around, the rest I swap.

I like keeping my games on my shelf, all in their little green boxes. It looks neat and tidy (Especially in alphabetical order) - but I do find with some I question "well, that was terrible, what a waste of money" and then it becomes about value and so on, and in that case if it truly was bad and not even going to attempt to finish it or play it again, I would trade it in.

I'm considering getting rid of my Wii at the moment. At first, it was good fun but I simply don't have the room to even use it properly. Would be good to get something back for it!

As a dedicated retrogamer I hoard all of my games. I never know which of my games I'll get an itch to play again ten years from now.

Now if you will excuse me ... *goes and plays Rise of the Triads*

I can probably count the number of games I've ever traded in on one hand. Not because I like having a massive pile of games, just because I like having them around in case I feel like playing them again. Also avoid buying pre-owned games, firstly because I keep my games in good condition (all in their original packets and with their manuals) and secondly to make sure my money goes back to the right people. Only times I've ever bought pre-owned was when there were literally 0 new copies left at the stores. Yeah I probably could have got them online but I wanted them right away.

Have to admit to being a hoarder.

Even games I hated I keep just to make my collection grow.

We sold half our DvD collection, thats 400 DvD's, last week to make some room yet I refused to sell any of my games.

Never trade in my games if in the rare instance I find it so bad as to be unplayable I take it back and get a full refund or swap it for another.
I would rather throw my games in the bin or give them away than trade them in for the pittance I am offered only for them to inflate the price by a few 100% and put it back on the shelf.
Even if I need the money for a new game I would not trade in to make up the cost I would rather go without for a while until I can afford it normally.
I have quite a large collection now it would have been larger except thieves stole over 100 of my PS2 games, bastards and trying to get them back through the insurance was a joke with their its out of print nonsense, really out of print I can walk into a shop and buy it myself new now you lying gits (this was just before current gen).

I trade in the games I know I won't play again(like Haze, Oblivion, Red Faction Guerrilla, Killzone Liberation, Final Fantasy 2). I try to keep as many games as I can, but sometimes I don't think they are worth the shelf space and so I trade 'em in for something that hopefully is.

Only when my parents accidentally got me LEGO Star Wars III, I was able to exchange it and get Arkham Asylum at a much cheaper price.

I trade to hoard.

In [game that isn't popular to like], I typically buy large volumes of certain items in the hundreds of thousands then sell off about 95% to recoup my original expenditure and pocket the rest of the items.

My bank doesn't contain that much money, but contains probably double to amount of money in items.

I do trade games if I have completed it and can't see me playing it again. That being said, I agree that the pittance we are offered from game stores nowadays hardly makes it worth bothering (I got offered 50p for a copy of overlord on the 360! Seriously??!!!?).

I am considering trading in dragon age origins (never really liked it but it came as a bundle with dragon age 2 on ebay) to get money off gears of war 3 next week.

I might also trade hitman blood money (bought on a whim) and prince of persia the forgotten sands. These games will be traded because unfortunately my xbox hard drive went screwy recently and I lost all my saves and I am not sure that I have the motifivation to play the games from scratch again.

I am thinking about trading halo reach as well, only because I have never been a big fan of halo games and I got it free with the new console I recently bought. Maybe I will run through the campaign first though, but I don't play online really so there is no real incentive for me to keep it once I have finished it (I don't like it enough to bother playing higher difficulties).

Lastly, I am going to trade in my copy of borderlands, as I only paid £10 for it new and I have just bought the game of the year edition with the extra content. Borderlands FTW!

Unless I need the money for something more awesome by an order of magnitude, I keep it all. I put it in a locker and keep what I need in my inventory.
