I want to see Spain vs. Holland, but first we have to beat Germany.

Hopefully Spain will win it. Really not impressed with the antics of van Bommel and the theatrics of Robben this tournament. On paper, Spain are by far the best side and the most attractive to watch.

In theory they should be the most attractive but it seems every match all they do it pass it between themselves with hardly any of the invention and vision individually each of the players have, while the other team just sit with 11 men behind the ball occasionally getting a shot.

I can't help but admire that kind of passing though. The movement is excellent and Their midfield is jaw-dropping. To be fair they always seem to create lots of chances but fluff them, something I blame on Torres not being fit/in form. And when they go for it, it's really special.

It'll probably be Germany. Maybe by some freak occurence the Netherlands win (being Dutch has me hoping), but I really think it'll go to the Germans.

It's all a ruse. We have the Dutch playing like Germans and the Germans playing like the Dutch. That way we have to win this time, right?

I also was immensely glad Germany slaughtered England.
As a side note, to the English patriots, Germany care more about Holland than us. They put up a decent game of Football.

If Spain beat Germany I reckon Netherlands can take the title. But the German side is a well oiled machine, and Spain will need to gel well if they are to beat them.

After learning this a month ago - and feeling quite embarrassed - I feel I must reply with:

Holland is not a country.

A trip to wikipedia shows it is the western region of the Netherlands. Good catch.

My pick is Germany to win it all, but the Dutch are playing really good as well. Who knows?

I'm Dutch myself, and the Western parts you're talking about are Noord-Holland (North-Holland) and Zuid-Holland (South-Holland). Holland is those 2 provincies, however it has become the easy to spell name for The Netherlands, and so when you say Holland it is considered you're talking about the country as a whole, not 2 of the coastal provincies.

I'm going to vote Holland, since I couldn't care less about Germany or Spain. Since all I know about football can be put on the back of a stamp, I don't recall Holland having won it recently, and I think it'll be nice to hear a new team win it, other then Spain, Italy, Brazil or Germany...
