Home row. In my school you practically get tazed if you so much as look at you'r keyboard. They had skins to cover up the keys, the put paper over the keyboard, all that sh*t.

Haha I worked on the website at my school and in the server room we would strip the keyboard and switch some keys when we put them back on to mess with people who look when they type.

OT: Homerow

I do a composite style. I do the finger peckiness in terms of not having my fingers in the proper position, but I don't just use my two fingers, I use whichever finger is most convenient at the time, which tends to be the first two on each hand with the occasional use of the third, and the use of the thumb for the space bar.

Finger peck. Never learned home row. I do use 6 of my fingers while pecking though, as opposed to many people's one.

You have no idea how many people you can trick if you switch g and h. Its great. We would also use wireless mice and such to annoy each other. That was a fun time.

Neither. I don't need to really look at the keyboard, but I don't do the home row thing either. I also use way more than my two index fingers. I found the whole, 'stretch your fingers instead of moving your hands' part of the home row thing fairly awkward.

I learnt to type using the homerow at highschool ON TYPEWRITERS! So that was a loong time ago. Now I use a hybrid, multiple fingered pecker style, my hands don't rest on the keyboard. A lot of the journos I work with are peckers, and there is one sports guy who must have learnt to type on a mechanical typewriter because he hammers the keys like he hates them. He goes through two keyboards a year on average with his angry index fingers.

Both.

It depends what position I'm in or what I'm doing(keep it clean).

Researching something or typing out more than 10 words=Home row.

Listening to a podcast or drinking a soda while needing to search for something=hunt and peck.

Some combination of the two. I don't really need to look at the keyboard while I'm typing, and I type pretty fast, but I only use my first three fingers, really.

I haven't heard it called homerow in a long time. I type the proper way. It's fast and efficient.
