a survival themed game, based in early bronze or iron age with scarce but brutal combat (permanent damage, losing limbs etc)where the gamers could form small family clans and later villages... Your non combat skills are vital for the survival of yourself and clan and little time investment is needed to play in a reasonable way

Eh, I'd like to see it as a more social thing. Like Second Life, you can wander round all day just talking to people without any sort of combat at all...but wander into designated danger zones and giant leeches try to eat you.
Final Fantasy XIV?

I picked it up recently myself, the "jobs" in the games aren't all combat orientated. You can get to lv50 (the max level) by leatherworking, weaving, blacksmithing etc, or get to lv50 by chopping down trees, fishing etc. It's pretty good, and I see plenty of people spending all their time in the city crafting or otherwise chatting amongst each other as opposed to out in the world killing mobs. I bought it for £5 and it's free to play right now, so if you're looking for something that isn't WoW and tries something different, I'd recommend it.

I'd like to see something that could vaguely be described as Minecraft + Battlefield: BC + a hint of insanity.
Maybe something based on dream-worlds, where the players can fairly freely create land formations, have to put some work in to make buildings, and can use weapons to destroy both. It'd take some work and serious balancing, but I think the idea has potential.

My ultimate MMO:
Left 4 Dead, No Mercy, 1000 fold bigger, opened up with base building elements. I would pay a montly fee for that easily. Come on, would you really not pick that up?
