I think my backlog has reached 3 digits easily.

It's really hard these days for me to keep my backlog clean with all the Steam/PSN/XBL sales and online store deals. I can't help it, I am a sucker for a good deal and I buy almost everything that looks remotely interesting.

Not to mention I keep replaying my favourite games rather than starting new ones, especially really long RPGs.

My God is mine really fucking bad. I've got Final Fantasy 13/13-2, Watch_Dogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Tales of Xillia, White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Darksiders 2, Kingdom Hearts 1.5, Final Fantasy X/X-2, and the Mass Effect series. And that list is for my PS3/PS4 alone.

If we go to computer, I have a shit-ton more. Thirty-six from just Steam alone. Going to Origin makes it thirty-eight. Then if we take it a step further and up the ante to my visual novels, several which last over fifty fucking hours, the list grows longer. I count fourteen of those, with at least four going over fifty hours and the rest coming in anywhere from twenty to fifty.

My current total is sixty-eight games, I duplicated a few if I had to play them multiple times. By the time October comes, I'll be adding another five games to that. I will never be able to finish my backlog unless I somehow come into big money and could quit school and work.

Edit: Shit! It just got worse! I forgot of a few visual novels nearing translated states, that adds about three, all between thirty and fifty hourse and I forgot Pokemon X, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Hmmm. At the moment I am currently studying for an exam that I have, so I am avoiding gaming at the moment, and I will be acquiring a PS4 after said exams so I am currently holding back buying games so I have a healthy collection for when I get the PS4. Having said that, I had started to play the Dead Space trilogy (I have finished up to 2) and I found out that my dad has bought me a replacement copy of Silent Hill on the PSOne to replace the one he broke, so I will have to replay that as soon as life is less hectic. But I am not half way through any games at the moment so my backlog is clean, just the way I like it.

Checking my 360 backlog it isn't too bad actually. I play most of my games to completion and my achievement rate is around 70%.

Now let me check my Steam account...

Oh god...

Someone send... help... NOW!

So many games... so little playtime.

[sub][sub]I don't have a backlog, I wish I had one. :([/sub][/sub]

I've been broke for a long time now so games have been at the bottom of my priority list.
I've just about finished college and I started work two weeks ago so that should change soon.

I'm getting my hands on Mass Effect 2 and 3 next week though so that should keep me occupied for a while.

For me it is something like 30 games, I think. It's hard to say, since there are a lot of games that I want to replay or give games another chance, which I couldn't get into. I never finished "Prey" for example and I want to give "Icewind Dale 1 & 2" another try. On the other hand, some of the stuff I used to like doesn't interest me anymore. Tried to replay "Max Payne 1", but it mostly just bored me.

Anyway, I only recently started also buying games from gog and steam. I started out with getting some of the stuff, that was on the top of my list of priorities, but soon realized that sales were quite frequent. Compare my first encounter with gog and steam, on which I used like 60-70 ? to get 10-15 games, to the recent summer sale on gog, where I got 14 games for 25?.

Many of the games I got and the games I want to replay are things like "BG2", "Alpha Centauri", "Don't Starve", "Skyrim" and others, so it will be half an eternity before I finish them. I try to mostly focus on the shorter games right now. I have finished "The Cat Lady" recently and I'm far into "Bastion" and "Dark Reign 1". Partway through other games like "Dark Reign 2", "Stalker-Shadow of Chernobyl" and "Warzone 2100". I'm rather bad at actually finishing anything, unfortunately.

Well before the GOG sale it was at a reasonable number. Now it's bloated as fuck.

Before GOG sale I had: Baldur's Gate II, Temple of Elemental Evil, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura, IceWind Dale 1 & 2 and the rest of Dark Souls 1 to finish.

The GOG sale added these to the list: Avadon: The Black Fortress, Avadon 2: Corruption, Avernum: The Complete Saga, Divine Divinity, Duke Nukem 3D, Eschalon Book 1, 2 and 3, Geneforge 1-5, Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition, Inquisitor, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, Legend of Grimrock, Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the entire Might & Magic series, Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, Painkiller, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Redneck Rampage, Rune, Shadow Warrior 2013 and Wizardry 6, 7 and 8.

I've already finished Expeditions: Conquistador and Shadow Warrior classic which I also got in the sale.

So yeah, I've got a lot of RPG and old school FPS goodness to keep me satisfied until Witcher 3 drops and long after that. Should be good.

Captcha: "be serious now" yeah, my bank account certainly agreed.

One thing that is good about these sales is, that they have made me very aware of how cheaply one can get games. Obviously not most of the new ones, but hey, it is often not a long wait for them to get cheaper. I used to still buy games for 10-20?, but now it's down to less than 5? and usually less (gog gets ridiculously cheap during sales). The only recent exception was "Fallout-New Vegas-Ultimate Edition" for 7?.

I have been mostly successful at not buying games, when I didn't know that much about them. Of course, reading 2-3 reviews everytime can get tiring, but I think it is quite important to not waste money and to not build up a backlog, which ends up containing a lot of games which will never be played/finished. Even if just for peace of mind. ;-)

I haven't got any games I have yet to play, just games that I have no motivation to complete like Remember Me and Watch_Dogs. I'm thinking of getting Wolfenstein: New Order when I go out this afternoon so I'm thinking of trading some in games (can't be arsed to put them online to sell them) to get it cheaper.

Update (if anyone cares): Got Wolfenstein The New Order on Saturday and picked up Metal Gear Rising, Aliens Colonial Marines and Star Wars: Unleashed 2 (the last 2 just to see if they're as awful as everyone says) in GAME's 3 for 2 pre owned offer. So now I have 4 to play.

While it is reasonable but it is still bad.

I pretty much toss aside an acclaim game (Mass Effect) over a java based mmorpg that is seriously bad at grinding/ progressing (Spiral Knight) and I order Tomodachi Life when I still got Professor Layton and the Miricle Mask to played too!

Funny thing how my bro keep going on to played Mass Effect (I had played a little but I couldn't get into it and I always end up reading a big guide at my guidence) when my mate told me about Spiral Knights a couple of times and it only took her screenshot of the game to get me intrigue and read the game more soon after.

My Steam account is the main offender, really. Those sales, man. It's not too bad, I'm slowly working through it. Starting with the easy to pick and play games, or single-player campaign shooters. I've almost finished Doom 3, and I'll probably start Quake IV after that. I also completed The Witcher 2 last month. It's the RPGs that usually end up on the back burner, they just require too much time.

I've got quite a collection on GOG; but I've gone through the initial period of 'that looks interesting', and now I've kinda toned that down into 'I want to play that now or soon'. Things still slip through though, what I want to do is always massively dependent on mood.

Got a few larger games on Steam (including Empire and Napoleon Total War...hooo)

Have a surprising console backlog however, but I'm just calling it a collection at this point. Backlog makes it sound like work :D

Most of them seem to be open-ended strategy games, though, which isn't so bad.

Would like to know why I stopped playing Company of Heroes, though. It's an excellent game.

It's pretty bad, somewhere around 15 (Including DLC expansions). The only ones that I haven't actually touched are Half Life 2 and the subsequent episodes, yea I know what sort of gamer am I right? I really do plan on getting to those, though only after I finish Half Life Source. I got the complete pack during the summer sale, and I really regret it, getting only Half Life/ Half Life Source, plus Half Life 2 and Episodes would have saved me a dollar. I've pretty much given up on even convincing myself I'll play the 1st game's expansions (Blue Shift/ Opposing Forces), Deathmatch doesn't even need mentioning.

The rest have several hours logged in at least (besides the Alan Wake and Titan Quest DLC), like someone else mentioned, I just can't be arsed to finish some of these.

Seriously most of this backlog came up as a result of me not buying exactly what I actually wanted, this has been said by Steam vets before, don't get sucked into bundle deals, think about if you really want/need them first, its golden advice, live by it.

Seriously, just look at my back log for everything not Half Life:
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Darksiders 2
Titan Quest
Titan Quest Immortal Throne
Mass Effect 1
Torchlight 2
World of Goo
LA Noire
Metro Last Light
Fallout New Vegas

Everything above Torchlight 2 I truly regret getting, I got the Alan Wake bundle, the Darksiders bundle, the Titan Quest AND the Mass Effect bundle, you can clearly see which ones out of the bundles I played. It does add up folks, the extra you paid for a bundle, multiplied by 4 as is my case, could have gotten me loads of other stuff. Don't be ignorant like I once was.

I suppose it's a side effect of getting an abundance of cheap games all at once, you place less value in each individual game, its like the law of conservation of game appreciation! Its not the sale's fault either, so don't jump at me for that.

I got a PS3 for Christmas and while my console backlog isn't bad(Silent Hill 1-3, GoW 2 and 3, Final Fantasy 9 and 10/10-2, Breath of Fire IV)....okay, some of those games are long. And I've been working on Valkyrie Chronicles for 2 months and I plan to have it finished this weekend(the fact each mission takes 1 to 2 hours doesn't help here).

My steam backlog is bad.....What's worse is I have every Total War game between Rome and Empire in there, Civ V and all the add-ons, Dawn of War 1 and 2, Vampire the Maqseraque: Bloodlines, X-com: Enemy Unknown. And I'm only counting the bigger games right now.

Games I haven't finished but intend to, eh?

Well, I recently got 2 games from Steam last month so those.
I recently got a romhack I'm play testing so I've been doing a lot of that instead.
I could be doing more Diablo 3 but I'm waiting on the ladder patch or whatever.

Steam sales and humble bundles have ruined my backlog. My steam account has almost 900 games and I probably have close to a 100 on gog. Plus I am a full time student and worker so I basically have no time to play.

Mine is pretty bad since I always start playing something that has no end like Hearthstone or League, leaving everything else to sit for ages. I did finish Transistor within 4 days of buying it though, nice to see that Supergiant ain't just a one hit wonder developer. Very impressed with the same voice actor used but he clearly isn't just the narrator from Bastion recycled, he's legit playing a different character.

I think i'll drop Castlevania: LoS 2 because how badly can you fuck up Dracula? The mechanics are good, if not spectacular and the dual Void/Chaos magic added some complexity and skill to the combat. It's just a shame how they made Dracula boring as a character, added shitty fetch quests and legit thought that mandatory stealth sections were a good idea. At least 2 stealth boss fights, one of which you sneak past for no reason, go up an elevator and then fight him properly. They lock your buttons too so you can't even try to fight back, i'm reminded of old DMC games where they would throw the odd platforming section at you and the controls would throw a fit because the mechanics aren't designed for that.
