Well ignoring the massive misconception that there was nothing before the big bang i would say, two volatile particles collided and the resulting explosion was the big bang.
The emanating radiation is a strong suggestion that this was the case. Also as the entire universe is about 1% of what was created in the big bang i do not believe that it was crafted or designed. It's commonly known now that almost all of the matter (regular, strange, anti etc) annihilated itself and everything around it about an instant after it was formed. We are the crumbs on the edge and it was all natural.

Big Bang. That's my answer. I'm of the happy mindset that we are nothing but flukes. The chances of existence are miniscule, and I'm just lucky to be here. There is no point to life, except to live until death. Did I say happy? I meant slightly depressing.

I have the theory that mankind are the only intelligent life in the universe (very unlikely but nevermind) and will eventually create a weapon that will work as a massive 'restore to factory settings.'
I think it's an infinate cycle and is how this, and all universes began

Maybe we are a giant simulation created by a highly advanced computer...OMG Civilization OMEGA O.O lol. That would explain why the world seems like its being run by a 11 kid with a.d.d.

I think some other universe experienced the "Big Crunch" and the resulting implosion broke through into a parellel dimension where there was no matter or energy and all that shit from the other dimension exploded out into the void and made this universe.

We are the rotting corpse of another dimension.

If it is a videogame then the person playing has probably gone to the toilet, or his mum has called him for tea.

Big Bang by God.

So the "Big Bang: First there was nothing. Then it exploded" isn't funny anymore?

shit dont talk like that he is monitoring us and if we upset him he is liable to turn off the game.

I never understood how scientists came up with the Big Bang theory. What did they base it on? Seems to me like they just decided to say there was a giant explosion. What can't be caused by a giant explosion?

I personally don't believe the universe was ever created at all.

Some kind of Great Golden Who ignited a fart, creating a fireball so huge it was called 'the Big One'. Eventually, people referred to it as the 'Big Bang' because 'the Big One' kept being used to describe the size of that fish your crazy uncle caught last week.

What if he/she/it were to trip over the power cable? We'd be fucked, but would we be aware of it?

Probably not.

Don't worry i'm sure a computer that can simulate a universe has auto save.I can picture it now.He started with Africa but totally cocked that up so hes like fuck it...So now hes making all these space marine games to prepare us for the battle with aliens...O.O

Before this universe there was another one. A happy universe filled with bunnies. But that one got destroyed in a great cataclysm brought about by a major plot point.

Pay attention, there will be a test later.

I honestly do not know. The Big Bang theory has merit, but so does a theory of cyclic previous universes.

I reserve the righ to say that I think that the universe started when the previous one ended, and its ust a infinite chain of previous universes, pretaining to the law of equivilant exchange, which thusly states the no matter can be created with out the loss of an equal amount of matter
I agree, but i've always considered the possibility that we're just all pickled brains in jars in some mad scientist lab, imagining all of this.
