Being very OCD, if someone pushes the CD tray shut it compells me to open it and shut it with the button.
That is impressively OCD.

-Press X to open tray.
-Make little brother insert disc.
-Press X to close tray.

Laziness is awesome!
It's what little brothers are for!

On my laptop I have to push it closed since that's how it's designed (MADNESS!), but on desktops or consoles I always use the button.

Edit:

My computer opens when i push the button, i have it set on auto close so i literally do nothing to close it
Autoclose? Does it have a sensor or something that's all like "Yup, new disc. Closing time."? If so, what if you don't want a disc in it? What does it do, wait until a timer runs out?

If it has a button, I use that. If it doesn't, like my laptop, I have to push it all the way.

My laptop doesn't have a tray. You just push the disk in so far then it eats it.
Never to be seen again!

I have to press the button. I know that nudging them closed doesn't really hurt the drives in the computer anymore as they retract long before enough force is applied to damage them, but I can't help myself.

I press the button. Every time. I used to be a nudger, but my PS2 started acting up because of it (the tray would move slowly and stutter a little). I resolved never to let that happen again, and from then on, became a presser. The 360 makes it easier by havign a button on the controller that'll do it for me. Now this is the future, baby!

When I do have a tray to close, I nudge it gently to close it. It feels to impersonal to me to press some button, gentle physical contact can do wonders.

Depends on my mood.
If I'm feeling rather grumpy, I may nudge it shut.
Otherwise, I just use the button

I voted for nudging it but it really just depends sometimes I use the software functions to open and close it on my computer or I just push it. On the consoles I only use the button for fear of really screwing up a temperamental set-up.
