when you have PS3, you don't NEED a disc tray ;)

but on my PS2, press the button because she's old and fragile and I don't want to break the tray or damage her whatsoever

Being very OCD, if someone pushes the CD tray shut it compells me to open it and shut it with the button.
Ha ha, that makes 2 of us!

My open/close button is on the disk tray itself, so pressing that button effectively nudges it in. So i don't bother pressing it at all. just nudge it!

A disc tray is very much like a woman. Treat her gently and get to know her instead of ramming things into her and she won't break in the first years of her life span.
XD you know you may be right!

For me if its a PC i push it a little to get it started, laptop, well I don't have much bloody choice do I!
Xbox, button or dashboard, whichever seems more convenient at the time.

I'm a little curious. Being a person who presses the 'open/close' button, and seeing all my friends push their trays completely shut or nudge it to get it moving, I began to wonder how everyone else closes their disc tray on anything; game consoles, computers, dvd players etc.
ALWAYS push the button. Never force or nudge the tray. You damage the motors inside and this is the reason why some people are constantly changing their CD drives - the trays get stuck or do funny things if you force the motors enough times. A good CD drive can last decades if not forced, I still have a functioning one that I put in a computer in 1994.

I throw my cumputer out of the window, untill the disc tray closes... Or I use the button. Depends on the mood I'm in, really

The only time I ever push a disc tray shut is when it doesn't actually have a mechanism to open/close it, like the ones on laptops that just pop out when you press the button and need pushed back in to close. Otherwise I use the button, and it really bothers me when people don't and just shove on the tray - I will chew anyone who does that to my machines out something fierce.

They have buttons for a reason people.

On my 360 I use the controller to open it but after I've put the disk in the tray I nudge it closed or press the button on the console, depends on the mood.

My laptop makes me push the whole thing back into the laptop for it to close and even then it sometimes takes two attempts for it to lock-in.

Console wise, I press the buttons.

My computer however, doesn't have such a lovely idea. pressing it GENTLY shut, gets it to popping back out, so I've got to slam it a bit. FORCEFULNESS FTW!

i tend to give it a little nudge cus that button is just far too inconviently placed.
