Australian, they're utter, utter, worthless pieces of shit. They haven't done a single worthwhile thing in my entire life. the last thing they did that meant anything was introducing a Carbon Tax, but the Carbon Tax is a fucking bad thing!
It's also mandatory to vote in this country, so I have to show up to the polling booths. Even though I never make a single mark on the paper, because every party is as incompetent, corrupt and useless as the others.

I'm from the UK. I feel the same way about the government as I do the monarchy: i don't really care.

Im from the us and try to stay very informed about not only the politics and situation in my own country but try and keep up with international politics as well.
I personally have a very love hate relationship, i am absolutely disgusted by the state of the us government. Congress right now is so divided by partisan politics that they cannot agree to pass a bill that allows the us government to spend money that congress already told them to spend in previous legislation. (ie the debt ceiling debate, all the debt ceiling essentially does is authorize the government to spend money that has already been authorized earlier in the budget). Also I find it incredibly depressing that you cannot listen to a single speech, by any politician republican or democrat, without hearing just a boatload of rhetoric that means absolutely nothing. Lastly it is just sad the policies that some of the politicians adopt, some of these things are so stupid you could realize they don't work as long as you have even the most basic understanding of economics.
However at the same time the only thing that makes me more disappointed than the government right now is the people. The fact that the masses can be convinced by all the rhetoric is just disappointing. Also some of the things that these people rally for (ie the tea party stuff) and then force the politicians to adopt are as i said so idiotic that anyone who actually reads a competent newspaper once a month can tell they are a bad idea. Then everyone else is so apathetic that it is people like the tea party who decide who gets to run the country.
I do not hate the government or any of the people in it because i think that everything they do is a reflection of what a part of the american populace wants and what the whole american populace allows. Thus i hate the people and personally would be just fine, and kind of love, a dictatorship because then i would know that the mindless masses would not get any of the power that they do not deserve.

Canada government: I don't agree with the tory's ideals or methods, but I do believe in their motives, which I gather is more than many can say.
(Yes, I voted for the NDP. Yes, I was frustrated that won more seats but they got less power than they had before. Also, RIP Jack Layton)
Alberta government: Also tories, but I like their policies more. Honestly, I'm so glad the wildrose (Albertan republicans) didn't win that they could sacrifice children to an elder god and I'd probably be okay with them.
Edmonton Government: Mayor Mandel is a pretty cool guy and he's a good governer. It's just too bad that city council doesn't let him do 90% of the things he wants to do.

Where's the "Do not trust them any more than I trust any random person I meet" option? Because that's how I feel. My government (and indeed all governments) are comprised of people. And, people are stupid, irrational, greedy, selfish, and power-hungry.

I don't hate them, but I definitively don't trust them. I honestly don't know as much as I'd like to know about my government and how it works. I'm sure there are some folks in there who want the best for everyone and others who are assholes only in it for themselves.

Labour may not have been brilliant but they're the lesser of two evils here. I don't see the lib dems ever getting into power after Cleggy has been such a ***** boy for Cameron now.
Obviously we clearly didn't learn the last time the Tories were in power, or people are atupid enough to believe what they said they were gonna do.
I suppose I should hate them, I am young, poor and Northern. I feel like they're singling us out right now.
I feel sorry for parents too. I know a few parents who are struggling because of some of the benefits they're not receiving any more.
Also my mum and my neighbour lost their jobs because they're trying to shut down most of the care homes here. They only want 3 or 4 open in my home town. Not sure where they expect to fit the elderly people already in those homes.
Also "Budget cuts! Saving the country loads of money! Oh wait, those thousands of people who lost their job have to claim dole money now, whoops!"
