I'm perfectly willing to walk the handful of blocks to the grocery store, but for anything further away I take the bus. Or the SkyTrain. I'm lucky enough to live in a city with really good public transit (it's generally reliable, extensive, and not run by dickheads).

In my area more people die while walking than any other method of transportation. The bus is the safest death toll wise, but I've had pretty bad experiences with them so no thank you. The bike laws are pretty ridiculous too so i rarely bike outside.
So are you saying you drive?

And out of curiosity, how are your area's bike laws ridiculous?

Depending on the distance, I walk or take the bus or tube/London Underground. Pretty lucky to live in an area well-served by a variety of bus routes, so that is often the cheap and straightforward option for getting around. Considering the city size, volume of traffic and passengers, London has a pretty good transport network.

yeah, i voted car. I mistated the part about the bike law; the laws themselves aren't bad but the enforcement (of what I've seen) has a lot to be desired.

That makes sense. The bike cops around my area can be dicks sometimes. I've seen them stop students who ran a stop sign because they were trying to make it to a final exam on time and then hold them for as long as 30 minutes.

I still ride my bike anyway though. For some reason they don't seem to pull people on road bikes over as much...probably because we could outrun their dirt bikes easily on the streets.

I drive a car. It's a cobalt. I don't much care for it but it's certainly quicker than walking where I live.

Bike, well at the moment I have to walk or take the bus since its under repair. I almost always used the bike, it is an easy and practical way to get around.

A combination of push bike and moped. Whenever moped dont work i cycle. Its no big drama theres plenty of bike tracks into town and i never really need to be anywhere far away. Not old enough for car and not overly bothered by them. I want a 125cc bike when im 17, way more fun.

Currently, my legs are the only means of transportation I possess. However, I am willing to walk as far as I need to get where I want to go, so long as I don't need to carry heavy/large objects, I don't need to give other people a ride, and my destination is 30km or less away from my current location.

Well, normally I just walk cuz I only have to go to college and it's only a sixth of a mile away. But to get around the rest of town I use either my ancient tiny pickup with surprising fuel economy or my big shiny motorbike.

Hey, where's the option for trains? Either I catch the train (in spite of City Rail's incompetence) or walk.

Not to mention the gorgeous view.
