I tend to just play single-player. I hardly play multiplayer. The person I did play with over the internet recently got a girlfriend and has vanished - though we only really ever played L4D2. I'll play some L.o.L occasionally, but only a few bot games.

My husband would rather watch me play a single-player game and help by giving input or reading the guide book/manual to me, than play actual co-op. Which is actually quite enjoyable. Though this New Year's, he wants to get some pizza and drinks, and play the Halo 4 campaign together. I'm not a big fan of the Halo series, but I'll play it if he'll join me.

I rarely ever get to play local with somebody in the same room as me, which is a massive shame because that is the most fun way to play.

I do like playing co-op with a friend or two over the Internet. When three friends and I decided to do nothing but screw around in Crackdown 2, it was one of the most fun experiences of my life.

Solo play. Play tons of LOTRO though, but even then I vastly prefer leveling alts rather than farming instances or grouping in general.

Local multiplayer is always more fun, I don't know why but everything seems more enjoyabale when the people you're playing with are in the same room as you.

Hell, it depends.
Singleplayer games I like to play alone.
Multiplayer shooters I prefer playing with my friends on my team.
Fightings I like to play either with my friends offline or online versus random guys.

Old school. Ive done it all. If I had to pick one, I would go solo. Its where you generally find the most well rounded and overall enjoyable gaming experiences.

Single player preferably. I don't like having to rely on other people for my enjoyment, and I don't find winning or losing online to be all that enjoyable anyway. Besides, for now the best stories still come from mostly single player games, and you couldn't exactly make Persona or Final Fantasy multiplayer, could you.

I prefer to play my video games alone, since me and my friends all tend to be "That Guy" when we hang out.

For example:

I play mainly RPGs and I'm pretty good at them, since I tend to figure out the meta game of numbers quickly
Another one of my friends plays mainly strategy games, Starcraft 2 and Rome: Total War are his top two played games, and he is pretty good.
Another friend of mine is really good at shooters.

Here's how a typical game session goes if we hang out together.

We'll play a shooter, friend 3 dominates me and friend 2. Only friend 3 is having fun. If we Co-op, Friend 3 ends up carrying us, and is having less fun because he's being brought down by us.

We play a strategy game, friend 2 has all the fun, and the rest of us suffer. We team up, everyone suffers.

However, if we play a new game together, than it's fun for all of us. Mainly because noone has learned the level layouts, strategies, or the mechanics entirely.

It's one reason why, though I enjoy playing Perfect Dark, I dislike playing with friend 3, because he has memorized EVERY SINGLE MAP. It's like playing against a Perfect/Dark Sim. But when he first got Unreal Tournament 3, it was a blast because it was a new experience for both of us. A week later though he had half the maps memorized, and it was significantly less fun, since he had played it nonstop for that entire week, and I was playing it for the second time.

I like all of the options, they all have different advantages and disadvantages. It's not a case of "I don't care" but having all of them available though (not all in one game, looking at you EA).

A slight correction, the most I like is playing with buddies* beside me. A goold old-fashioned lan-party is the definition of fun for me.

Splitscreen with friends is the most fun way to play video games. This is an objective fact. Nothing anybody can say will dissuade me.

Really dig co-op, the same type of game as single player but with someone human that you can interact with (only good with people that you already know well enough).

Well Eowyn was mid as Katarina... I'll let YOU decide if we won or not.

[sub]Ok, i'll stop taking the piss out of Eowyn now ^^[/sub]

I have a feeling I was bot support, maybe the 1/7 game with Nami? Which is totally legit by the way. Supports don't killsteal! Ever!

Maybe I was Nocturne jungle? Though I wouldn't have been so amused by his escapades if I was the one who lost his blue... Then again Nocturne gives zero shits about not having blue to jungle so probably not.

Oh and can you quickly think of a name for a feeding Heimerdinger? Last game, he bitches about wanting mid, picks Heimer with Barrier and Ghost then FAILS amazingly. Against an AP Yi of all things. Heimerfeeder? Bit cheap but it works I guess.

alone. i don't like competition, or situations that require co-op. optional co-op is ok. at least then i don't have to worry about anyone holding me back. but i prefer alone overall.

I don't have to much time to play games anymore so when I do play it is usually with a group of friends locally. To me it is the stupidest thing ever to want to play a game with a friend but having to tell them to go buy a copy of the game a system n buy online passes so that you can play together when locally you can just sit down with each other on the couch and have a good time.

Since local is becoming less and less common I find myself buying less games than ever and playing a lot more older games especially game cube games.

For myself it depends on the situation. If the game has a good mutliplayer and my friends can join in, then I'm definitely going to be playing with them. If it's just single player only, then I'll fight solo. Pretty Simple.

I enjoy co-op a lot but I don't have that many good co-op games and my favorite games happen to taste best single player, so no sweating around the subject.
