Poll: How do you like your protaganists in the morning?

Most game characters have about as much personality as a pair of dirty underwear, you know there's something there but it's most likely crap.

Cynical out of all of these, Dorky being 2nd place. Some of my favorites include Kyle Katarn, Ryudo (Grandia 2), Darill (Front Mission 4) and Tidus. Not entirely suited for the task at hand but they take obstacles as they arise ensue and are overcome in good, if sarcastic, graces. And of course I'd love a properly done VG version of Captain Jack.

There's a large place for Silent Protagonist self-insertion too, but true characters are what make good movies so endearing.

I do not have a strong preference for my protagonist(s). They should simply fit the character they are meant to be. If they are a Gangster, Cruel and Merciless, a commander or higher ranking troop... cynical. Ye get me drift?

It could be a gay, pink, dancing, Ryan Seacrest but if he had Steven Jay Blum voice acting for him I would like him. Honestly the man has a voice from God.

I would LOVE to play a gay, pink, dancing Ryan Seacrest. Scratch that - Eddie Izzard! Maybe put him in the next Portal game. "Cake or DEATH!" "Cake, please."

On a sidenote: Those who voted "silent" are probably the same people posting fanart of Alyx on DevA. Eheh.

I like main characters like Lloyd. Kind of an ass hole, but they mean well.
