In games I prefer the Zombies to be fast and insane, because it gets my blood pumping and my adrenaline rushing.

In Movies I prefer slower zombies, because it makes for a more frightening movie, faster zombies tend to make an action flick morelike.

There is no such thing as a fast zombie as far as I know. All of the fast "zombies" are infected with something like Rabies like '28 Days Later'. I know it can be easy to get mixed up with this kinda stuff sometimes but you have to differenciate.

Slow zombies aren't any fun. I need a bit of a challenge. I like my zombies fast and nimble, able to surround me quickly and force me to fight my way out.

"zombies" slow, "infected" fast.
This, perhaps with a bit of variation. Genetically enhanced infected zombies are okay too but if I was in a real life zombie apocalypse I'd regret saying that.

I think that the terror of zombies comes from the massive slow unstoppable hordes. Making then run fast and look like they've just taken a hell of a lot of crack just makes them not scary for me
Just think of a horde of fast zombies on crack! [HEADING=2]AAAAAHHHHH!! RUN![/HEADING]
That would own more than chuck norris leading the bear cavalry.
I am sorry, nothing can own more then chuck norris your argument is invalid

OT: Slow , I just want to push one over then curb stomp it =D

first of all, nobody cares (at least they shouldn't for the point of this discussion) if they're undead or infected, zombies are zombies.
also, 'slow because i can kill them more easily isn't a very good argument here, zombies are supposed to be scary, they're not if you can kill them by blowing them a kiss...

slow zombies are less scary cause you can just walk away. or run up to them, break their legs with a shovel and get out before they have a chance to bite your head off.
seriously though, if zombies are fast, you panic. and of course 'waaah that's really scary and it's coming this way.' is less scary than 'waaah that's really scary and it's coming this way really fast and i can't outrun it.' and running WOULD be the first thing you did when you saw a zombie...

Simon Pegg on the fast vs. slow zombie:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/04/television-simon-pegg-dead-set

(this is a good read, he makes a good argument as to why zombies should be slow, why fast zombies lose the meaning of the whole genre)

The way I see it, there are two different kinds of zombies

The "Dead" kind- that lost their humanity through... dying, and brought back
and "Infected" kind- that lost their humanity through irreversible plague

The Dead kind are my preferred. We never would have had a Shaun of the Dead without them... plus they're just classic

I like 'em fast and insane. It's ALWAYS more entertaining that way.

Although I wouldn't like them like that EYE ARE ELL (IRL).

A good zombie is a dead zombie... well, you know, REAL DEAD.

And I still preffer slow, bullet sponge zombies, I think it is more frightening to shoot something that doesn't stop nor dies until it gets a bite out of you than something fast with more human-like weaknesses.

Slow and shuffling...it makes them easier targets... And in that same sense, throughout the slow & shuffling zombie movies, how in the hell do they take over the world? My grandma can speedwalk faster than them. Yeah they can catch a few people off guard but it's not like they're going to catch 99% of the population while they're sleeping.

Medium rare.

OT:I'd have mix the 2 together. Shuffling if their are recently infected or not aware, and fast and insane when they are further along in the infection or really want something.

Fast zombies, by a mile. After the new Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days later, slow zombies ceased to be scary in any way, shape or form. I can only watch slow zombies as a form of nostalgia, cheese, or as an excuse to blow someone up without then needing the bad guy to be scary.

Death should be a hindrance, not an energy drink.

Also i miss the good old Necromancer. Why did the "Zombie Virus" thing have to take over the franchise so completely? Why can't we have the magic zombies anymore? Also that opens the door wide enough for the other undead creatures I've heard a few people suggest putting in movies more often on this thread.

Bring back my Necromancer!!!
