I'm interested to see how others play Fallout 3, I think my play style is Option 4, I try to be nice and get lots of good Karma, but sometimes the offer of a few Caps can tip me towards theiving.

I was under the impression that this game made you decide who you were, down to whether you have a mullet or a buzz cut. Also, how do you determine your Karma? I see the little pop-ups when I do good/bad, but can't find where you check your standing on the grounds of good, evil or neutral. I assumed you had to approximate.

I played with a busted disc that froze when I tried to enter the capital wasteland, and now I play with a game that wont work cause DRM only accepts the original disc.

Check your stats and go to the left one where your special and perks are located. It is the furthest right in that section. So from your items hit L trigger then move the pages til you get to the furthest right.

Sorry should have quoted. For Slayer_2

I play the first few missions, get bored, and return it to GameFly.

Hmm I thought the crashing I get is bad. I can get a crash every few minutes and sometimes it goes away for an hour. Other times, Fallout 3 doesn't work at all, just crashes about 2 seconds after loading a save game until I let it rest for a while. Try going back to your game store and getting a refund. I've heard DRM is a *****, luckily it doesn't bother me.

P.S. Thanks, I'll remember that tip for the next time I go on a killing spree in Megaton.

Would downloading and playing this through steam aid with the reliability problems at all do you think? (on a 3gig dual core pc, 4 months old)

edit: sorry, I really should post this in the general thread, but it seems to fit with the way the discussion's going at the moment. I'll move it if people want.

"Amnestic": you serious?

and "whyarecarrots" I don't know... Don't worry, every PC is different. The chances you get it as bad as some of us is low, although I won;t lie, Fallout 3 is the most buggy release I've seen in a while.

I have high karma, and I generally do good things, but if someone pisses me off, I don't hesitate to blow their head off with my plasma rifle. Especially Colin Moriarty, he was the most fun to kill.

I'm on my first playthrough right now, and I'm a veritable angel on earth. I free any captives I come across and expect nothing in return. I like to think it's how I would act were I really in that situation.

But of course, on my next playthrough I'm going to be an evil bastard >:D

Yeah, you can never have to much ammo, till you hit the max ammo limit :p

Those Moriarty's, I took care of BOTH of them after I heard Gob's story.

At "ThaBenMan" Hah, you goody-two-shoes ;)

Yeah, call me names, but then don't expect me to save you when you get captured by super mutants :p

And also, there's an ammo cap??? What is it exactly?

Too bad the only prisoners they take end up in a soup pot or gore bag.
But if you're insinuating I'm nooby enough to get captured by those thugs, I'm appaled :p

I don't know, but I assume there is. Or at least, there is a wieght cap, so you're limited by that although it would allow more freedom than normal FPS's.

Exactly what i do in every choose-your-alignment game, good then bad.

This. Although I got sick of being saintly after Sarah Lyons asked me for the code to activate the water purifier.

"Y'know what? I'm not giving you the code."
Then I walked off, and two weeks later I still haven't returned to save the day.

But ammo doesn't weigh anything. It doesn't really make sense, you'd think a mini-nuke would be pretty heavy, but all the ammo just has "-" under the weight rating.
