Typically I'm a stealth player, but once my cover is blown, I'll flee and lure you into one of the traps I've laid. If that isn't a viable option, I blow us both to hell with a grenade.

I usually wander off from the main group and sneak in behind enemy lines

Depends on the FPS. I play much more cautiously and tacticly in RVS2 than I do in Halo or CoD. In all of them though, my weapon of choice is the assault or battle rifles.

I usually just go to directly for the objective, or back up my team mates to do so.

As a result, I am total shit in team deathmatch. Just don't have anything to go for.

I like to stay hidden, because... well, I'm a coward. I guess I just like the feeling of totally surprising and/ or scaring the living hell out of my victims, causing them to shoot wildly, or just make them scream into their mic. Maybe that's schadenfreude, maybe not. Just knowing I outsmarted the straggler of the group makes me feel good.
Of course, when it comes to Left 4 Dead, I'm always a shotgun or hunting rifle kinda guy. Weird, huh?

I lone wolf it, but focus on particular annoyances. If everyone goes left, I go right. More often than not Im the one attacking the enemy from the back.

In single player, I try to get as immersed as possible. I duck for cover, rescue allies, and think of snappy one liners.

In multi player, I try to help other players, and give helpful advice. but since I am only returned with kids screaming things that their parent's shouldn't have taught them, racism, sexism, homophobia, and...(sigh) clones of iTz PuLo, I don't bother waste my time on the unredeemable. they have gone too far into the realm of douchebaggery.

Hold on, totally off topic, but why are there people like this kid? actually, I shoud be asking why are there people on this kid's side? Is there a legion of jack thompson's and Rowan Atkinson's and Stephen Harper's so hellbent on eliminating the new medium that is video games that they spawned a generation of genetically hardwired (God, this is a hell of a run-on sentence) asshats who's sole purpose is to give gamers a bad name? I can't even begin to describe the pain I'm feeling, as a gamer, from the idea that people out there think that acting like that online is acceptable. I don't know any other way to end this than: I'm gonna go listen to Bill Withers.

(christ, that was off topic)

i usually change it up depending on who's doing what on both teams, what guns im using, and my mood lol. i usually hate standing around, but if im in a good enough spot, i have fun with it. im big on automatic guns that reload fast and have big clips, so in MW2, i love the AUG. I also love being versatile, which is why the SMG in ODST is perfect for me. Oh yeah, i think it depends on the game as well, and also the game type and map....

I usually either sneak (a la Spy), ambush from cover (a la Pyro) or play hit and run (a la Scout), though I'm fairly impressive with distance marksmanship when it's needed (a la Sniper).

Why yes, all my play-styles can be described as classes from TF2. I wonder if that's because I've given up on MW2 ever working again and only recently started enjoying the wonderland that is TF2.

Back in the old days it would have been "Get behind barricades and hide when you're shot at."
But with all this regenerating health its more like "There's more healthpacks up ahead, just go in with miniguns blazing."

I'm an offensive sniper. I like to pick em off from a distance. Though, when that gets boring, I just go up to my enemy and give them a big hug...

With my AWP.

I flank, usually suicidally, but I rarely stick with the pack, i'll split off and try to ambush the enemy. if i'm not doing that i tend to hang back and jump people though I do mix it up a lot, sometimes i'll be first out of the gates and dead to the first shot fired :)

I have a bit of a priority system as far as my preferred kill type.

Proxy>Ambush>Sniping>Precision(Anything allowing for a quick headshot)>Explosives>>>>>>>>>>everything else.
I never spray and pray.

In TF2 i mostly enjoy playing the engineer , heavy or solder, if that says anything about me.
However, in a more realistic multiplayer game (BF2, just Battlefield, not Bad Company) i really enjoy playing the sniper. Taking enemies down far far away is my definition of fun. Also i love to be stealthy, crawling around in the grass and finding great spots to stay at.

Yeah, sniper all the way. Witch is weird, since i don't like the Sniper on TF2.
