for some reason people still pronounce 2010 as twothousand-and-ten while we never called 1910 ninteteen-hundred-and-ten and they never called the movie 2012 but twenty-twelve so how do you pronounce 2010?

I pronounce it twenty hundred and ten. Beat that. XD

OT: Twenty ten. It's the easiest one to say and I like making things easier to say.

I say two-thousand ten, not two-thousand and ten. That's because it is not two numbers. 20-10 is not a year.

Both, depending on mood, time and lunar cycle.
Or just however whenever, I'm not so picky.

What's wrong with saying it that way? Takes a little longer, but we probably waste our breath saying things that are even more unnecessary. That being said though, I usually go with 'twenty-ten' but sometimes I say 'two-thousand and ten.'

Em Em Ex, baby!

Though both examples in your post are acceptable, two thousand and ten just sounds better. 2010 sounds all....American-y.

Twenty-ten is just easier.

The only reason we didn't say stuff like "Twenty-nine" is because it sounds like 29, instead of 2009. "Twenty-oh-nine" would be pointless, because it has as many syllables as "two-thousand nine." Since there's no such number as "twenty-ten," there's no confusion when we shorten "two-thousand ten" to "twenty-ten," so I don't see any reason not to call it that.

totusindogti (toe-toosin-aw-tea) or two-thousand-and-ten if you'd prefer me speaking English.
