From the BBC website and The Daily Show (even though technically The Daily Show isn't a reliable new source in the traditional sense)

I spend all day online so if something is happening, the internet will be talking about it. The same goes for when im away from a computer. If somethign is happening locally, friends or relatives will tel me because they found out via newspaper tv. I do catch the occasional TV, radio and paper though, but like i said, if somethign is hapening someone will tell me, so saves me watching/reading.

I receive an email from Washington Post and New York Times every morning and browse their headlines. I also occasionally watch CNN in the morning before class.

The BBC website and the Guardian do it for me...although the Daily Show is one of my main sources for the bizzare world of American Politics
