Apparently the pronounciation varies from place to place and has changed over time, but I've always thought it was "at".

Rhymes with hat, because everything is more awesome if it somehow relates to hats in any way. :D

So you call people twots? Must sound like a real twat!

OT: Rhymes with hat, if not it really would be twot. I don't even see how that's open to interpretation.

Well it's spelled 't.w.a.t' so I pronounce it as such. I would only pronounce it to rhyme with 'hot' if it was spelled 't.w.o.t'.

Ever since I've been able to talk I've had this strange compulsion to pronounce words how they're spelled, it's weird.

I'm an American. I probably sound like a twat to you regardless.

Twat, the way it's spelt rhyming with hat. I've heard it said any other way and i wasn't even aware it could be said any other way

I always assumed it was regional. In america, most people pronounce it "twot".

The only people I've ever heard pronounce it rhyming with "hat" are british or australian. Like Yahtzee.

See, if you were anyone else, I'd wonder if that was trolling... but then I read other posts and think 'huh?!'

OT: Last two letters are 'a' & 't'. How do I pronounce 'at'? Sure as hell not 'ot', so yeah, rhymes with 'hat'.

That's how I've always said it, it rhymes with hot.
I must've misread something on that link or something... but how? All the IPA (or whatever they used) indicate a short and clipped 'a'/'ah' sound.
