I have to have a quiet room or at least just rythmic sound(unless im dead tired in which case i could fall asleep almost anywhere). I sleep on my chest with my head facing away from my alarm clock, and a pillow under the left side of my chest (helps me breathe, i have no clue why). then i have to get my foot to sit right because i dropped a big cinderblock on it a couple months ago and now it sorta hurts if i try to sleep on it funny. Then i gotta stop thinking about stuff and eventually fall asleep.

I have to be within arms length of my cell phone so I can check the time when I wake up in the middle of the night.

I start on my side, with two pillows, and my arm sandwiched between them. I swap sides every 10-15 minutes until I doze off. I usually wake up with one of the pillows scattered on the floor, sprawled out spread eagle on my front with my face in a big damp patch of drool.

Sleep? You must be joking! It's 5 in the morning here and I've got to "wake up" in three hours.

Anyway, I move around a lot when I sleep. Mostly I sleep on my side though.

I have to be lying on my side, facing away from my husband (I can't stand to feel his breath on my face), two pillows under my head, and another clutched to my chest.

On my back with a video of Youtube on, after 30 minutes my screen turns off so the enviroment can be happy with my Computer asleep.

Oh, and if in bed with someone, hugging them.

I'm a mix between a stomach and side sleeper. It usually just boils down to which just feels more comfortable that night.

Now, if I'm having trouble getting to sleep, I always put on a 70's George Carlin LP. Something about the softness of a record player with George's then soft and goofy voice just puts me out like a light.

My stomach doesn't like when it's tipped over, and lying on it usually leaves me with my neck hurting in the morning, so on my back. But sort of an angled way.

I usually fall asleep on my left side, snuggling a body pillow, with my left arm curled up under the smaller pillow under my head, or stretched out towards the end of the bed.

My husband tends to sleep on his right side, with his left leg up on a body pillow. He says it's more comfortable for his hip and spine to keep the left leg lifted. So we end up sleeping with our backs touching. All warm and cozy. We end up moved apart when one of the Dachshunds wiggles into the middle though. lol

I like to suffocate myself just enough to pass out. I sometimes attempt a barrel roll as I fall towards the bed, so I'll sleep in any position I happen to fall into the bed in. And regardless of where I sleep, I always wake up holding the gun under my pillow. Even if I'm crashing at a friends place and did not bring a gun.

Honestly, though, I have no constant. I share the bunk with the missus and our two dogs, so I'll sleep however I can. I also have the annoying habit of constantly changing my position before I am satisfied.

Most of the time I sleep on my back. I have really wide shoulders and and if I sleep on my side i screw up my neck. Most of the time i use a completely flattened damn near non-existant pillow. My wife does not get it at all.

I cannot grasp how someone can comfortably sleep on your stomach. Doesn't it mess up your neck?

On my side. Always.

And I almost always am haunted by horrific nightmares the likes of which I cannot say on this forum for fear of being banned. Not fun. I also grind my teeth at night, which is obviously not good for them.

Hey, this is a new thread to replace the one that came up during Escapists little forum fit.

I said that I alternate between sleeping on my side in as close to the fetal position as comfortable and sleeping on my back.

I read that it's better to sleep on your side like described above and another poster said it's bad to sleep on your stomach because it puts pressure on your heart or some other bad stuff.

I don't know to be honest. I toss and turn a lot and generally have a lot of trouble trying to sleep. I'm a bit of an insomniac although I don't have trouble sleeping during the day.

Also, alone...
