Well speaking as a true Englishgirl and also from you speaking of the dear old Queen, i would like to say this:

I take my tea with the Queen every Friday evening. We enjoy a relaxing chat in her throne room at the palace with biscuits on the side and the corgis on our laps. We both enjoy our tea with cream and sugar and a rich tea biscuit dipped in (actually i hate cream but you can not say that to her without a good royal slap across the face). We then do a spot of horse riding and i must say, she is an excellent Croquet player.

Send my regards, we play polo every Tuesday and she always wins.

milk with one sugar. I don't like most teas on their own, prefering to have coffee if theres no other option. Some of my flatmates have commented on how much tea I drink, on weekends I drink about fives cups a day, and if I'm staying at my parents, I often drink up to 7 cups a day. With 4 people drinking tea in our house, we go through a lot of teabags.

I have a question to all tea drinkers:

WHY do you put sugar into tea? If you don't like the taste, why drink it? Why not drink juice instead?

I don't understand why you drink tea if you find the taste so unappealing you have to put sugar into it. What is the point? Please tell me.

Its not unappealing without, it's just better with.

What on earth else would you use sugar for apart from making things taste better?

You can't say "why do you put sugar into cake", and it's the same for this.

I tend to drink various exotic herbal teas..So no milk or sugar for me. But when I do drink black tea, it's with milk.

Lots and lots of sugar.
God only knows how much sugar I put in there.
Probably at least four sugars.
three or four when I bother to use a spoon.
Probably like six to eight when I simply pour it.
I drink it only for the purpose of a facade of sophistication and some degree of perceived "poshness".
This is rectified by my barbaric adding of eight sugars.
So I win.
