Such questions should not be asked by the likes of you. You will sooner find your death than the answer.
*sigh* i already found my death. Beat him at Tetris then became immortal. Therefore i can ask the question. So i did. And i already found out :p
Blasphemy! You fool yourself into believing you possess the answer. But you know nothing. Nothing!

There is no explaintation for how pacman/Ms Pacman moves! He just does.

"There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies understandings of Pacman". *cough*

The maze he lives in is actually a surreal painting, where ALL the surfaces slope down, and they are lined with grease, so he simply slides everywhere
how does he slide back the direction he came from?

my hypothesis is that he has a small slave child that carries him around everywhere
does he pay the slave child?
yes but its minimum wage
is it really a slave child or his love child?
Both.

At the same time.

SIDEWAYS =D (patented saying do not nick)

Here's my theory :

.The black floor is similar to ice
..Pac-man is like a hocky puck
...The walls have constantly varying levels of gravity
....Ghosts cannot be effected by such gravity
.....Pac-man can
......He is pulled over the ice like floor towards said walls
.......Thus, he glides.

A/N :Everyone who has participated in this discussion has earned a horrible death by 4 ghosts but will be reviered as the gaming world's greatest philosophers and thus spend an eternity in gaming heaven, where the only sonic games availabe are the 2D ones and casual gaming doesnt exist.

Amen

"None of the above packman simply walks, it's just the camera angle theat makes him apear to have no limbs."

...by that logic....wouldn't his head open sideways?

The worm-hole one is the closest.

What he's actually doing is altering the strong nuclear force of matter; a bit stronger in front, and a bit weaker behind. This perpetually 'pinches' the space behind him while 'pushing' it out the back, which results in what appears to be forward momentum. He is, in effect, within a self-induced bubble of space-time.

Little-known fact: if you're able to eat all four power pellets within three seconds of one another, pac-man jumps up to light-speed. The ghosts start moving backwards, the maze deconstructs around you, and you have to watch him be born, and then slip backwards into un-life.

(waaaaa-waaaaa-waaa-wa-wah.)

wait HOW THE HELL DID HE GET INSIDE THE MAZE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Its obvious. In the beginning there was pacman. He was happy just existing without time. Then Time came along and caused everything to set in motion in the form of the big bang. So that Pacman didn't get pissy with him time created a maze around him with all the yellow dots of super special awsomeness he could eat. And thus he was happy =]

so what does he do when the dots are all gone...surely dodging ghosts will get boring and the four of them should be able to outsmart him sometime in there life

its also well known that if you eat all four ghost's while looking in one direction without turning or eating a single dot, you watch a secret video showing you how he moves...in the credits is a link...its subliminal so keep your eyes open...for the safety of the secret i cannot tell you this link

With newer pacman games they gave him legs.
yes but how did he recieve these legs? is it not a possibility that the pac man with legs is an imposter in a suit?
