I'm in the second year of my undergraduate Psychology degree. But that doesn't mean I'm particularly educated - there are a lot of idiots who go to my university.

The public education system / time spent in school is a poor metric for how educated a person is, and earning one degree or another is hardly reflective of the amount of learning a person has undergone. Consider trade professionals and artists - an experienced welder of 10 years is not a "doctor of welding," though undergraduate degrees are now offered. The same is true of an accomplished artist that never takes an art class. Self education is just as valid as public education in some cases.

Similarly, I can think of several "highly educated" people that don't retain grade school math and language skills.

About the same as masters in US colleges. (I guess) 7 years in the university of Helsinki, studying history. +2 years of military training.

The amount of time it takes is listed next to each option. That would be how many years of univeristy you take I guess. I thought you guys had similar degree system. We graduate high school at about age 18.

In my defense, I didn't ask to be made a doctor.
Some are born doctors, some achieve doctorates and some have doctorates thrust upon them.

well, I'm currently in Upper 6th Form studying Ancient History, Geography and English Literature for my A levels in England... so I guess that means I'm still in high school. I also have plans to go to university though :)

Sixth Form, which is basically college. I don't get too much stick for buying books, even if it looks incredibly odd for a fairly small 16 year-old to buy a giant biography on Hitler, as well as War and Peace.

I am currently working on getting my Associates Degree in Computers. I plan on going on to my Bachelors and maybe further. I plan on being a web designer and I have also thought about going in to Business Degree so I can start my own business.

I have a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The University of Wales, Aberystwyth in Computer Science, Software Engineering and obviously everything leading up to that i.e. GCSE's and A Levels...

I do have some rather more interesting things that I took while I had free time, I have an A in GCSE photography. I have all sorts of City & Guilds qualifications for desk top publishing, web design, graphic design etc from back when Macromedia owned Dreamweaver, Flash, Director etc and Adobe was on Photoshop 4 or 5. I also have a Microsoft office certification, I can't remember who the examining body were now. Also have a couple of music things from piano and a green belt in judo from when I was a kid.
