Poll: How frequently do you change your pants?

When they fall off me.

I only have one pair of jeans at a time, which I wash weekly/twice a week depending on use. I buy new ones either when I change a size or when they fall to pieces.

Of course I change my pants daily, as everyone should. It's trousers you're thinking of.

Why wash a pair of jeans after one wear? I just... I don't understand. Why would you buy that many pairs of jeans/do that much washing per week?

She hates the environment, obviously. I bet she uses a tumble drier, too.

Really though, this is a bit of an American thing, like with the naked children. A lot of Americans, especially those better off, are very anal about laundry/clothes. I remember in high school it was considered "gross" for anyone to wear anything more than once a week.

That's bizarre! I don't know anyone that'd wash clean trousers after less than a week - even when we all wore suits it was just two suits alternated per fortnight. And after one day?! Wow.
As a student, that sounds like way too much effort.

My parents instilled this bullshit "if you've worn it at all then it's dirty" mentality that I haven't been able to kick. I've been known to wear a set of pants for five minutes, be told to change (because apparently it disturbs people when I wear shorts and a t-shirt in the middle of winter), and I'll throw them in the washing basket.

Jeans aren't really supposed to be washed more than like once a month unless they're COVERED in mud. I don't wash them much therefore. Other trousers it's one day as I am a very sweaty man.

I have separate bum around the house pants and going out pants. I change each whenever they get visibly smeggy.

and btw pants are called pants. The only pants that are called trousers are the ones Americans call 'slacks'.

I wear a new pair everyday. I have a chronic fear that I will smell real bad if I wear them twice. I have 3 pairs and do the washing about 2-3 times a week. And I also shower twice a day and I use so much deoderant it's not funny.

I didn't initially remember that you Americans call trousers "pants" and thought we were talking about how often people change their underwear. Which would make the poll results a little worrying...

OT: Jeans I generally rotate every couple of days.

I only ever wash them when they really need it. I'll generally have underwear and my work uniform in the wash each week, and casual wear maybe once every two to three months, at most.

They really don't need washing all that often. Shirts I won't wash often either, though if I get sweaty and the shirt starts to smell I'll wash it, but otherwise one pair of clothes can last ages. Why waste water, electricity, detergent, time, money ect. to wash something more often?

Trousers/jeans are worn 3 days before being put in the laundry, (T-)shirts 2 days. Always assuming nothing was spilled on them.

Can't argue with that - anybody who features sunglasses on their emblem cannot possibly be wrong. Gurren Lagann is the first anime I've ever watched because I liked the premise - and I usually hate anime. Then I think I quite liked a character who wore jagged shades, wielded a katana and insisted on being called Bro.

OT: I...don't actually know. I wear them till I either get sick of them or till they get some serious visible stains. And my jeans are all dark, so tea stains don't count. If they did I'd be changing my jeans three times a day because SOMEHOW I keep missing my mouth, or people find some other way to make me spill my hard-earned tea.

Usually change pants when I shower, got a few in rotation. That said, I don't actually wash them that often, 'cause almost all of them are jeans, so rarely need to. The pants I excercise in on the other hand I wash once a week, along with my other laundry.

Every day. My trousers on the other had... Sorry, had too. But I change 'em after a while, but I don't exactly throw myself into mud and other substances, i'm quite clean.

I change my pants on average after 2 days. But I wear my boxer shorts for a whole week.

I sweat much more on m upper body than lower, so I wont change my jeans a good four or 5 times after Ive worn them. Work pants however due to the fact I work in the food industry I often was every two or three, and the smell tends to cling.
