I think I'm pretty good really. I manage to pick up the basics of any given genre pretty quickly, and be a match for the more veteran players after only a bit of practice. I have good hand-eye coordination, fast reflexes and quite a lot of experience with a decent number of genres, making me quite a veteran player to begin with.

For example, Modern Warfare 2 was only my second FPS on the PS3, yet I had no problem starting this game on the more higher difficulties. Or TF2 on the PC, in only a week or 2 I became one of the quickest and overall best sniper on a certain clan server. Then again, I'm naturally good at shooters (either TPS or FPS), so that doesn't count for most other genres.

That said, even though I master the basics of almost any game really fast, it's still very hard for me to become a real master in some genres. For example, I am way too patient to become really good at RTS games (although I used to be a master in Age of Empires 2, through sheer willpower and hours of play, I was a dedicated kid). I am very reluctant to actually attack my enemy, in fear of leaving my base exposed, and I just can't direct a major battle and economical management in my base at once. Maybe a more tactical game like Dawn of War 2 would suit me, although I got my ass kicked so incredibly hard in DoW2's beta. I just plan too much I think, I can't strike quickly enough.

Also rhythm games. Maybe if I practice a lot, but I never managed to play Donkey Konga as well as my little brother could. I have my limits.

I'm between average and really good. I consider myself more skilled than your average dumbass teammate in matchmaking, but I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer.
I usually have a positive k/d ratio, but like everyone I have good games and bad games. The difference is that my good games are REALLY good and the bad games are only kinda bad. Most of the time I'll have around 1.5 kills for ever 1 death, and that's average. A good game in say MW2 would be when I end up going 36 kills and 4 deaths, whereas A bad game would be going 10 kills and 20 deaths.

I'm fickle, I could be Good or Bad depending on my mood. Sometimes I would rather fool around than attempt to win. Even on my best day I wouldn't call myself a pro.

I'm not the best but I'm not too bad. Really depends on the game on how competitive I am.

Generally I'm very good, but some games I'm much better at than others. I'm pretty average at Modern Warfare 2, but pretty good at Left 4 Dead 2, and amazing at F-Zero GX.

Ok, I had the world record for most takedowns in a RR event in Burnout Paradise for about 3 days. So I am pretty damn good. I have also beaten Zico in Wipeout HD (I am going for platinum) Devil May Cry, DMC3 and DMC4 on DMD, the latter being beaten with an S in everything. I am pretty good when the opponent has a good signal so I do not play online too often. Spoils my ego. There are maaaany others to add but these are the ones that stand out.

Also, if you have a good signal, I will eat your face in Tekken 6. If you do not, I won't play you.

At my preferred genres I'm rock-solid, but not necessarily tournament-grade prize-winning solid.

No self-confidence here.

I can play decently, but god I suck at Zelda.

It really depends what game, I guess.

I'm generally really good at first compared to the average player when a game first comes out, but as things drag on they get better than me because chances are I'm too bored of it to bother getting really good.

I'm sure as heck not as into getting good at games as these guys:

I'm good at COD, but I don't really enjoy playing it properly, there's too many bullshit deaths and campers for me to play it seriously, I'd get stressed out too much. On games like UT3 and Lost Planet (in UK hosted rooms) however, I'm good and I like playing my best at them, because it's fun to be good, and when I die it's usually because I did something wrong or the other player did something I didn't contemplate. Unlike Call of Duty: Modem Warfare.

Average maybe. Never play multiplayer, so I don't really know. I prefer going solo.
I'm also to lazy to bother becoming good, if I even finish it, which I rarely do.
