Poll: How good is your English compared to your fellow Escapists?

According to USA Today, I scored about 320 points above the average (in my state) for my critical reading score. So yeah, I'd probably say I'm a bit better with English than most. I forget my writing score, but it was also pretty sweet.

How can the majority of votes say "above average?" Average is average, regardless of the degree.

Because the majority of people are delusional.

I say I am average because despite the fact I am English and should be a native English-Speaker I have lived in foreign nations for most of my life and as such have the occasional miss-step regarding word choice and sentence structure.

I like to consider myself better than average, at least compared to friends/people around me, but I doubt I can beat The Escapist. Mostly because most of you seem to have English as your first language. Despite this, I don't think I'm below average.

Also; Me am godest on anglish, etc.

I don't think you can accurately take a poll like this from an internet forum, since the anonymity of the internet gives people the freedom and often the urge to let the normal rules of writing slide, even if they normally write everything as well as possible.
However if you meant to take a poll on how they write on these forums only, then that's fine, I just thought I'd point out that your results may be skewed by the effects of internet use.

I'm about average I'd say, since there really are some people who write horribly and I take things like capitalization and punctuation into account as well. And english isn't even my first language, so to those people: take the extra minute of time and read through your post just once, really just once, and spare us the worst. Please.

I feel people who voted better than average will probably try to make their responses match accordingly. The majority can't be realistically better than average because that would make the average better than average which contradicts itself. Anyway, good idea.

Getting people to rate their own language ability? Yeah, that's a good idea that will yield accurate results...

I wanted to find out if people rate their language ability correctly, not how high that ability actually is.

How can the majority be better than average???

Hehe, so my prediction in my first post was right after all.

It has to do with this being my second language and me never really putting any time or effort into studying it or improving it in any way.
