Poll: How Hard/Heavy do you like your music?

Your scale seems very broken. Sorry, but I think the leap from regular Death Metal (Cannibal Corpse) to whatever the fuck your 11 is supposed to be is retarded. You do know there is heavier stuff than Cannibal Corpse that is actually music? The Faceless, Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder etc.
Plus, Anthrax to Slayer makes sense, but what about Black Metal? Much heavier than Thrash, not as heavy as Death.
Anyway, I can listen to the heaviest stuff, as long as it's still musically correct, and it still sounds like music, instead of idiots screaming and hitting instruments.
However, my favourite bands sit around your 8 and 9. I do really like Cannibal Corpse, but I love bands like Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Slayer, Dream Theater.

Normally I'd say something like "it's so heavy it goes to TWELVE" but I realise that Anal **** is an 11 and things of that ilk are just a mess of sound with no coherency, rhythm or, in fact, music.

I can't really say based on these songs. Whatever Slipknot and Disturbed are is what I like the most, and whatever is below them like classical Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.

hey, that's a pretty good scale! i can go up to 7, but then i start to lose the melody of the song, so i dont enjoy them as much. 8 and 9 are still fine though. 10 and 11 are somewhat painful. its like running all the saw movies after saw i through my head at once.

hey quick question to fans of 10 or 11. can you understand the lyrics? i was reading along with "You're Pregnant, So I Kicked You In The Stomach" with the lyric sheet and i STILL couldnt follow.

I seem to like a broad range. I listen to everything from 6 to 11. I know it's not very specific, but I do like some Guns n' Roses AND the band mentioned on #11 (which I won't mention, because the name alone might get me banned ) from time to time.

And it was meant as a joke, though I don't really think we should be judging music based on how heavy it is.

The joke nature of that post was lost to me, honestly. I know quite a few people who'd say that as well, although not with Miles Davis because I don't know anyone who can appreciate such fine music.

I wouldn't say it's judging either, just a matter of taste.

I like my rock up to about 5, maybe, and anything else is not the kind of thing I'll really listen to.

Off off just my musical style i like 6-9 but the 10 and 11 are bands I hate. Sorry to be a douche but I HATE Cannibal Corpse, I think they are gimmickey and cheesey. That kind of overwrought offensiveness is for showmanship not expession, they are as transperant and souless as any pop musician. And ive never heard of A.C. but they are just loud distorted noise. With no break downs, no occasional digression from brutal lyrics,tempo changes or melodic patterns it ain't music.

I'll listen to anything from 1 to 11.

The music I listen to the most probably goes from 8 to 11. If I was asked this 5 years ago I probably wouldn't have been listening to anything above 6. But now I'm pretty opened minded when it comes to music and don't like to limit the amount of music I listen to.
