Seeing as I embellish the truth to protect my anonymity, I usually expect others to do the same. If I find out honesty from another user, that's cool, if they're lying, it's for a good reason, so why would I judge them for this?

The only thing (on average) I believe most people exaggerate about on forums is how tough they are, or how argumentative they are. I think a lot of people say things on forums they would NEVER say directly to someones face IRL. I usually take that as an extreme form of immaturity.

I think people are honest here. I trust everyone. This place is definitely more honest than other forums.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go skydiving into a sea of chocolate and many beautiful women. And yes that is true. Totally. Completely.
Please take me with you!

They are honest. But at the same time, they are showing a certain side of themselves. The escapist forum rules following/wanting to fit in side.

I'll believe people if the story they are telling is believable. And liars tend to be inconsistent with their stories.

This is interesting. But, there might be a couple of rough spots with it. A good story is hard not to believe, even if you make it up. And on a forum like the Escapist, where all statements are preserved, it's entirely possible to never be inconsistent!
