Poll: How long was it for you between finding the escapist and joining?

Hello Escapist members in general. So I've finally got the courage to join the site (a big deal for me,it's the first time I've joined any site) as it's got such a good/friendly forum.

I'm naturally shy when dealing with people I don't know so I've held off from joining. While this probably isn't uncommon, I've been a daily visitor to the forums for the last 18 MONTHS. I first found the escapest 4 months earlier through the zero punctuation videos.

So I ask you, how long after you found the site did you actually join? Has anyone seriously taken longer than me to join?

18 months? That's a long time. Any names you noticed stick out during that time on the forums, OP? I can think of a few who stuck out when I was a mere browser, though most of those are gone now...

Anyway, a friend of mine (who I haven't spoken to now for at least a year, this is an old friend from before I came to university) showed me the site because he's a massive Yahtzee fanboy. I came here for Zero Punctuation, after a few months I decided to make an account, and I've been a regular face here ever since . That was a year and a half ago now, almost...

Well by my count about 9 months. Id been watching the videos the whole time but it tool me ages to decide to join the forums.

I skulked around this site since Yahtzee had less than 10 videos up but only joined up last year for March Mayhem and even than it was a while before posting.

Because of a mild condition I have, I can't for the life of me remember names, plus my pronunciation is terrable so I can't read most peoples names anyway, let alone remember them.

I do recognise alot of people for there avatars though like you, Irridium, PayJ567, Daystar Clarion, JRCB plus about 70 other users.

Oddly, when I do remember someones name I almost never forget it.

If you're looking at a post, on the bottom-right of said rectangle there are 2 buttons - "Reply" and "Quote". Clicking the "Quote" button sends you to the bottom of the page with that user's post in a quoted format.
I advise you read This as it's a nice guide.

And I got linked Yahtzee's Orange Box review, and then a month/few weeks later I returned and watched them all, then joined up.

And registered now in 2010.

This happened once in TF2 with a scout stuck in a spawn door, although all he said was "need a despenser here"
