I have never bought a game full price. I literally can't understand the logic of doing so.

Less than 10% probably. I really have to want the game to justify it, which is somewhat rare: I'm pretty patient, so I don't mind waiting for games to drop in price. The only game I am going to buy 110% for sure at launch this year is Dark Souls. SR3 is a maybe.

An incredibly small amount is a day one buy. The only games that have been day one buys are Portal 2 and Terraria.

However, seeing as Dead Island is available for pre-order I think I'll be getting that on day one.

I said that I wait for the prices to drop but it depends how much I want said game/how long I've been waiting for it. ~£40 is a bit over my budget considering they probably aren't even worth it any how, having to play any console game I get on such a small telly, atmosphere further ruined by the fact that I can see how frustrated I'm getting because I can see my reflection most of the time.
All that being said, I'd be better to invest that £40 towards getting a new TV.

Half and half. The games I really want I'll get on day 1. But I do track down a lot of old titles from my childhood so the price of those has obviously dropped.

Usually Bioware games. I bought LA Noire the day it came out, but that was the day right after my birthday and there was no school 8)

Not many, if any, and if I did, I wasn't aware of it at the time.

I bought 3D Ocarina of Time only a couple of days after it came out, though, but I got a discount, because the people at the store where I got it were awesome.

More than I should, probably. I preorder almost any game that looks really good or is a sequal to a game I really enjoyed. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth it or not.

Day 1 Buy I reserve for games I feel the need to preorder, which are also the only games I'll pay full price for (I assume 'full price' here refers to local retail price). Consumers vote with their wallet, as they say, and I won't support the price jumps here unless I really think it's worth it.

Alternatively, I'll turn to Steam for $60 off. If the price is still marked up there, I'll refuse to buy it until it drops to $60 off for the same 'not supporting price inflation' reason as above.

Other than that...ebay and waiting for price drops on Steam. Buying local generally is not worth it. As for an actual number...maybe 1-2 games per year.

I used to buy a lot of games on day one, but recently, as of this year, I realized that most games drop to around 60% of their original price within a couple of months from release, so I started only buying on Day One games that I would otherwise feel like I'm missing out on.

For the rest of this year, I think the only games I'll buy on Day One are Skyrim, Dark Souls and Space Marine.

I try to make it a rule that I'll buy them new for the most part, but yeah... I'm patient so I rarely buy first day and just wait for the price to drop. Not only that, but when you wait, you end up getting a "GOTY" type thing or some free/cheap DLC or whatnot bundled with the game.

There are only a few titles that give me that need to play them immediately, but if that need's not there, then I can wait. The market is saturated with plenty of worthwhile titles for 20 to 40 bucks anyways.

I found out that you usually go for extremes.

I usually buy them after the price has dropped, so I am following the release schedule by a few months delay.

For example, I just bought Assasin's Creed Brotherhood. When Brotherhood was out, I was buying ME2. When ME2 came out, I was buying Batman: Arkham Asylum. This way, I always have a new game to play. I am just buying them all on Day 1 + 2,3 months...

Next game I will buy on day 1 will be Xenoblade. The summer drought has resulted to me running out of games to play.

Ever since I discovered GoG and Steam sales, I've been very cheap. :p The only games I buy full price are ones that I'm really excited/hyped for. For instance, Duke Nukem Forever, Assassin's Creed series (except the first one, I bought that after playing it at a friend's house), Metal Gear Solid 4, etc.

Mostly sequels I guess, because I know what to expect.

Only ever got Wrath and Cata first day. I honestly don't have a memory if I ever bought another new game 1st day. More than likely I never have.

Nearly never, although now i have a spanking new computer capable of playing all these new games...
This may change over the next year although I have so much catching up to do it may be a while before I feel the need to get a new new game.

Pokemon Black was the last one. Good purchase, needed more end game content (I can't get on wifi so it's sort of my own fault). I still miss silver and it's 2 regions.
