Most browsers have some kind of auto-complete function where if you type in enough letters, it'll narrow you down to a frequently-visited site. For example, all I have to do is press Y and I'll land on YouTube.

For this site, I have to get all the way to "ESC" because E or ES takes me to ESPN.com.

How about you guys? Are you here so often that your browser knows "E for Escapist"? Or do you have to go further out?
I just tested it and I only have to type 'E'. Even tried 'T' for "The Escapist" and it was first on the list, followed by Total War Center.

I use firefox and never close my tabs though so it is always open for me as long as firefox is.

e gets it to the list, es gets it to the top. though what i do is just do a search on my firefox startup for zero punctuation which is autocompleted when i put in z. To get to this site my process is this:
press windows key (I don't like using my mouse)
press down
press enter (opens firefox)
press z
press down
press enter twice (this opens search for zero punctuation)
double click on first result and I'm here

I have this as my startpage. ^^ so no letters.

Edit: But if I would, it'd just be the "e".
Prefacing my post with a disclaimer, I'm not having a go at you just asking a question as I'm not sure if you made a mistake or if I don't understand.

What do you mean? I don't even know what word you're looking for and am confused.

Do you mean "did"? As in: 'If I did try to get here by typing, it'd just be "e".' ?

I've noticed that a lot of people use the word would differently in the United States than we do in Australia, for example, "I wish I would have hit that guy." where as I would say "I wish I had hit that guy." Perhaps this is why.
hmmm :/ I'm not quite sure what I meant myself.
I think I meant that If I were to (more correct, yes?) write in the URL I would just have to write "e". So I think you understood me correctly. :)
Thanks for pointing it out though,

EDIT: also, I'm from Sweden, so, even though I try, my english grammar might not always be the best. :p
Yeah, "were to" makes a lot more sence.

I was just wondering if it was on purpose or not because I've noticed that, in plenty of shows from the united states, the word 'would' is used differently.

And don't worry about your English grammar being wrong sometimes, most people at my university who only speak English (It's their first and only language) are terrible at it.

And my Japanese scentence structure if horrific, so I can't fault someone for grammar in a second language.

I have Google Chrome and it's my most visited browser.
I have about 30 websites favourited or visited most, so my internet goes kaput a lot.

Just ES. I do not visit the site so much that it pops up with only E, but the first thing that pops up with ES is the Escapist.

I got it bookmarked, but I have to type "es" before it's actually narrowed down to The Escapist.
eBay's first, for some reason. Silly eBay, you get off of there, I never use you.

I type no letters, my browser opens to it (and even if it didn't, the Escapist is in my favorites bar).

However, as a test, I started typing it in. I got as far as the E.
