Inquistion, Far Cry 4, Watch_Dogs.

I don't even know how WD got on the list, it was just a bland and bad game all around. The mechanics were ok -- but the plot, story, and events didn't add up for me. Great beginning though --- really peaked my interest but the rest was just.....blech.

Dark Souls II (About an hour on best friend's PC)
Super Smash Bros (Less than an hours on my 3DS; about 2 hours on best friend's Wii U)
Bayonetta 2 (Own a copy; about 2 hours on best friend's Wii U)
Mario Kart 8 (About 3 hours on best friend's Wii U)
South Park: the Stick of Truth (Own and beaten on PS3)
Transistor (Beaten; was playing on best friend's PC)

Yep... Only bought South Park: The Stick of Truth, Bayonetta 2, and both versions of Super Smash Bros., even though I still do not have a Wii U... with anything on Wii U or PC was played on my best friend's Wii U or PC respectively... Overall, still kinda wishing Pokemon ORAS and/or Persona Q was on the 2014 GOTY list... But, I digress...

I played DA:I for about 5 minutes.
Didn't think any of the games on the list were GOTY-worthy, so I pretty much ignored the tournament.

Of that posted list, I've played 8 of them. But only 5 or 6 of them with any consistency. I've 'played' Hearthstone but have never beat a single AI match after Illidan, the end of the fucking tutorial. Oh, and I lost against Illidan 3 times before beating it.
So with 1 or 2 hours played, I uninstalled it.

I also have 20 hours on Watch Dogs (I'm big on the freeform genre) but never beat it.

I have Dark Souls 2 but waiting for my controller to come in the mail. Played an hour or so of it so far with the keyboard and died against a big knight dude that killed me in one swing. Also had to run away from vase-worms that seemed to have a thousand hitpoints for some reason.

Alien: Isolation (my GOTY)
Destiny (disappointment of the year)
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (playing it *now*)
Watch Dogs
South Park: the Stick of Truth

I do own Transistor but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Only 4
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
The Wolf Among Us
South Park: the Stick of Truth
Transistor

As I often wait for games to be available during sales, I don't play most new games (the most noticeable exception is when the game is released early in the year). This year, I haven't found justification to jump into the next generation yet, so no SSM, Mario Kart or Bayonetta 2 for me...

I got to try:

Alien: Isolation
Dark Souls II
Farcry 4
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Watch Dogs

From all of these i enjoyed Shadow of Mordor the most, second place would go to Farcry which i still haven't finished and then theres DA:I which i'm getting sick of, filled with pointless boring quests that scatter shit across the map and then they claim that it has 100 hours plus of gameplay. The rest is kind of a meh, i'll get to them when i'll have the time and i probably should get an xbox controller if i ever want to get into dark souls

I only got to play 3

Dragon Age 3

Smash Bros WiiU

Bayonetta 2.

And I'm not sure if this counts because I just played this this weekend. I played the demo of Destiny and I have to say...it's not bad. But that's because I'm only playing a small chunk of it and am not feeling forced to grind because I am not going to MMO grind my life away.

It's Halo and the gameplay is still solid, and the enemies don't feel bullet spongy at all like I assumed they would with my experience from Borderlands. I just wish they didn't give them those health meters.

I certainly wouldn't pay for this though because there is nothing there that would compel me to do so. If there is no story there and this game was built around continually sucking money out of me once I already paid for it. Then no I'm not bothering.

I played South Park. I'd heard good things for several years of its development so I thought I'd give it a try. I usually wait a few years to play a game. By doing this the price has dropped and any new DLC will be available in a complete edition. I got annoyed after buying one or two rather incomplete games and then finding out that the DLC was coming packaged with new copies a few months later. I'm in favor of expansion packs but the industry has pushed it a little too far for my taste. Since that seemed unlikely with South Park I gave it a shot. And a deliciously weird shot it was.

2. I didn't have the system for some and the rest could go crawl in a hole. I only played Smash and Bayonetta 2.

I've played 4 of them. Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Dragon Age Inquisition, Stick of Truth and Hearthstone. Hated hearthstone, though that was not it's fault, I just don't like CCGs. Stick of truth was a little too heavy on the gross out humor for me to get into. Still it was pretty good.

It was really close for me between Shadow of Mordor and DA:I. I flat out love both of them in different ways. Dragon Age is a poison I can't quite get out of my blood so i am saying I prefer that out of the 4 I played.

Alien: Isolation
Dark Souls II
Farcry 4
Super Smash Bros (3DS)
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Destiny
Bayonetta 2
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Sunset Overdrive
The Wolf Among Us
Watch Dogs
Mario Kart 8
South Park: the Stick of Truth
Transistor

Honestly can't believe I played that many of them. That being said most of them don't deserve to be on a games of the year list in my opinion. But I do have a rather odd taste in games.

In my mind, two: Bayonetta 2 and Wolfenstein; The New Order.

But in mainstream standards..
- Mario Kart 8
- Stick of Truth
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Dark Souls II
- Alien Isolation
- Watch Dogs
- Farcry 4

I played Far Cry 4 and Watch_Dogs.

They were both underwhelming and I didn't finish either of them. Fuck 2014.

I haven't played any of them yet. I've got Transistor on my Steam wishlist, but I want to get through a bit of my backlog first before getting to it.
