Poll: How Many Of You Are On Speaking Terms With Your Ex(es)?

About six months ago I moved from Perth to Melbourne. At the time I had a girlfriend in Perth, and as neither of us wanted to go long distance we decided to break up. Now she has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend, but we still enjoy talking to each other (via Facebook in general).

After some time spent on the Escapist I noticed that many people here had horror stories about terrible break-ups and dumpings, and never want to see their ex(es) ever again, so I ask you, how many of you still communicate?

Certainly a bit awkward, but speaking terms with my last ex certainly.
We still see each other at university and are in the same class, which would be especially awkward if we hated each other.

I'm close friends with both my exes :3 I broke up with one and the other broke up with me, but we were friends long before we got together which is probably why we're still close now.

Not really. I tend to break contact with the girls I dump completly.
There was one I got on a friendly basis with again though. She had gotten pregnant with a friend of mine, and I was happy for them.

...but being the slut she is, she cheated on my friend several times, so he kicked her out, and I don't want to have anything to do with her again.

I thought we weren't, but then we met coincidentally at the mall buying the new pokemon game (I couldn't make something like that up) and she seemed cool. We talked and played a bit of pokemon until she had to leave...it was kinda weird.

Yes I am on speaking terms with my exes, one of them plays DND with me and my other friends, and she is hot. The worst part is there is still a lot of sexual tension, and I still have feelings for her, so sometimes I think it might be better if we didn't hang out at all.

Depends on the ex, a majority of them no because they just weren't interesting people. But I still drink with one of them.

I still talk to my ex girlfriend. Spite that we had very difficult and painful times while dating where I was questioning why I wanted to be with her in the first place, that I don't hold grudges and check up on her to see how she's doing. I just care to much, and though it still pains me to know about her life sometimes I still wish her the best. This is a good Thread- oi, ouch.. now my stomach hurts thinking back on the past.. .. ..

The only person I could even consider an exe is actually my best friend, of course that was over a decade ago. We have a lot of common interests and he's cool.

Used to be. I have some that I see occasionally and am courteous to, but I don't hang out with them or anything. I only harbor resentment and ill-will toward, but I'm still civil. lol
