A top-down space shooter in Flash, a classic Dragon Warrior-style RPG in XNA, a 3D action puzzle game in XNA were all games that I have completed.

Still in the works now are another top-down space shooter (much more robust than before) in XNA, a 2D adventure game (also XNA), and a Zero Punctuation Flash game for the contest.

I haven't finished a game yet, most of the ones I've "finished" are crap. But I am working on one that I am sticking too. To show I'm not full of crap, please look at these pictures:

90% to 100% of all artwork was made by me or by someone I know. All of them programmed by me in either BlitzMax or Blitz3D.

I made a board game up... Does that count?
It certainly does. A lot of older game designers got their start with board games. The same kind of fundamentals apply (aside from the programming of course).

I'm curious about how many escapists have ever made a video game of any kind. (I have for, the record)

edit: mods don't count
I used to create boardgames that were based on the mechanics of rpg's, and play them with my friends, but I doubt that counts.

I made a scroller shooter for a school project once. Turned out pretty decent, even my teacher played a couple of times before continuing on with whatever we were learning.

I made a flash game with almost 40 pages of instructions, and when you start the game you instantly get killed.

I don't think that counts, so I voted for 'No.'

I have a great mod for Arcanum but I not to good at scripting so it's only basic and I have yet to find someone that is commited to do some serious work. I mean I spent 2 years just working on the maps, dialogues and stories. It's playable but its no fun walking around and just killing everything. I also made a few games on RPG maker for PSX and PS2 but I kind of lost interest after I figured that I would be the only one to play them and since I made them it wouldn't be surprising.

I don't think playing around with MS paint during school hours qualifies as a Video game.

I've created games, one of which is a crappy sonic fan-game I made so hard nobody has ever beaten besides me (I have a resistance to annoyance, so I can do the same thing over and over for weeks without getting bored of it), and I only beat it recently, despite it having been created years ago. ^_^... the sad part is that its only hard because of its poor quality. ^_^;:

I coded up a very crappy branching text adventure game when I was about eight. It sucked, mostly because an eight year old with little creativity and even less programming skill made it in BASIC on a TI-99/4A.
