I'm actually really picky when it comes to pillows. I can only ever sleep with one, and it has to be really old and thin, so that I can fold it over. Weird I know but I don't like anything either side of my head so I fold the pillow over untill it just fits my head, plus then my neck is raised slightly.

Thick pillows just don't work, or new pillows. They need the shit beating out of them to achieve the same limp, lifeless feel that I like, I can't sleep if they are springy or soft.

Anymore than one pillow and it will just end up on the floor. I move and thrash around/talk/mumble a hell of alot when I sleep so it's not unsual for any additional pillows, plus bed sheets to be all over the floor by morning, yet I always keep one pillow and my duvet around me :S

I think it stems from sleeping on a matress on the floor for 3 years. It was by choice though, I didn't want to spend money on a new bed when the floor was adequate.

Usually I like two between my head and the bed/wall. But if it's a wide bed, sometimes I have two thin ones beside each other in the back and one thick, soft one in the middle in front.

Please tell me someone else sleeps with 0...

I used to sleep with one, but I slowly realized that every night, that pillow would end up on the floor. So, I just stopped using one.

Hah, people actually voted for the "I don't sleep" option. As for me, I love to snuggle as many pillows as possible, but I can only stand one under my head. Otherwise I'd choke or something (I sleep on my stomach).

1 Real pillow, 2 human pillows. Sometimes. o.o!

My soft plain pillow makes me dream soft dreams sometimes. The other pillows not so much. ;)
Is that 2 humans or one comfy girlfriend? I need to know how insanely jealous to be. D:

OT: I sleep on 1, but occasionally whem I can't sleep I turn around and sleep on the pile of discarded clothes and books at the end of my bed. It's surprisingly comfortable...

Sometimes I sleep really well when I just rest my head on my arm.
It's pretty comfy.
I usually have two pillows though.
Fortunately, I don't have Arvena Thelas syndrome (Morrowind reference FTW!!!)

Two normally, but I will occasionally use my third pillow. Though it matters little with the third pillow, for it normally ends up in the hall before I wake up, yet I sleep with my phone and it never moves...

I prefer 2. It's not the comfiest, but then again, my bed wasn't built to accommodate one 6'5" human being.

While sleeping; Two under my head, one under my arm/chest and one just laying there... serving no purpose.
While gaming; One under my chest, two by my feet and one just, you know. Laying there.

Two pillows. One soft, one semi-soft. I find that the combination of the two thicknesses is essential to proper head elevation.

1, but it's quite a bit larger than the usual pillow. 1 normal-sized does fine too when I sleep out, however.
