I think WoW would probably have to top the "in the lava" list.

Even with all those years of mario, the fires of Blackrock Mountain and Shadowmoon Valley have consumed the souls of millions and millions.

I alone have probably died to it over 200+ times over the course of my wow career.

Heroic Sartharian (spelling?) attempts alone probably account for 80+ish deaths, then at least every single one of my alts has fallen off their mount into the lava at least twice around the world. I didn't even really do much molten core and haven't played Cata... I imagine if I had i'd have a tally in the thousands.

Am I the only one who initially thought this was about the children's game "The floor is lava"?
What do you mean "children's game?!"

I actually almost never have that problem in games. The only time I did recently was my replay of OoT, but the Fire Tunic kept that from being even a remote slip up.

A fair amount of times, luckily I use single player commands so I don't lose my stuff.

If I excluded the various Sonic the Hedgehog games on the Genesis and Super Mario 64, it would be probably around fewer than 10. Including those games, however, I'd put that number at 100+.

Three times in Minecraft so far. Only ever lost a diamond pick at most.

Outside of it? Hundreds of times in various platforms I've played over the years.

Many, many, many times - be it from Tomb Raider to Oblivion to Lego Star Wars and beyond.

Why, just today I kept dying in the "Burning Curiosity" level in American McGee's Alice. All because of those freaking Lava Fish that pull you in, with almost no way to avoid them.

Lava is the age-old nemesis of gamers.

Off Topic:
WHAT IS THAT, CAPTCHA? DO YOU WANT ME TO THROW YOU INTO LAVA?!

Thank God for inventory editors, eh?

OT: Yeah, far too many times.
Whats an Inventory Editor? The only mod I have is Better Than Wolves.

Only once in Minecraft, and I've learned my lesson on how to safely mine obsidian since.
Didn't lose too much, but was still annoying.

Really? That's like asking me how many beers have I had, ever. The original Mario alone has to be in the hundreds.

A few times. But I always have a little water pit nearby in lava zones,or a specially designed "Burnout Chamber" where I burn out, with no risk of losing items.
