I Absolutley Loved this movie. It had such brilliant performances, particularly from Ledger. It was dark, intelligent, deeply psychological and still had some great action. Tell me what you think on this poll!!!

BLEW. MY. MIND.

Ledger should definitely be up for a posthumous award. Very, very deep for an action movie. If you haven't seen it, GO NOW!

Hear hear!!
Some will claim he's just getting the attention cause he's dead...those people should shut up and watch the movie!!

*shrugs* was kinda, meh.

Then again, I'm not a bit Batman fan, and preferred the Burton aesthetic over Nolan's gritty "realism."

I'm not a Batman person but it was pretty good. The Joker is now one of my favorite villains. I loved his devious plans to rob banks (killing his own teamates), the social experiment on the boat (how did he get on the intercom? whatever we'll roll with it), and choosing who to save. I mostly just like his enthusiastic, comical and sadistic nature

One part that did bug me was that if Gotham was going to have a new hero, how would a District Attorney suffice? A DA is a cities prosecutor and he can't catch criminals that haven't been caught, say for example the Joker. Influencing Harvey to join the dark side was way too easy.
Harvey: "Your men, your people"
Joker: "I can't plan anything, not my fault"
Harvey(if it were me): "BS! If that were true id just hunt your men"

can someone please explained why everyone laughed at this part?

Let me get this straight. You think that your employer, one of the richest men in the world, is spending his nights running around the city beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands? And your plan is to blackmail him? Good luck with that.
If I were the other guy I would say, "hell yeah, whatever he pays me I can make him cough up even more if he wants his secret safe"

I'm about a 4.8 on your scale there, but I clicked 4. I'm seeing it again in IMAX so we'll see if I catch things I missed at 1am.

I haven't seen this film yet as it's still not out in the UK, but on IMDB it is rated by over 90 thousand people as the best film ever by quite some margin. I have no doubt that this will be a good film, but there is no way it can be the best film ever made is there?

I suppose I'll see this weekend when I see it for myself.

It wasn't that he was catching criminals, he was a symbol the people could believe in. That was the original point of Batman from the first movie, if you remember. Also, people laughed at that part because blackmailing is illegal. It would mean Batman would catch the guy and beat the shit out of him.

Also, amazing movie. Definitely the best superhero movie ever.

My dad saw it before me, and I'm gonna tell you guys what he told me. "Watch the magic trick."

Easily my favorite single moment of the movie.

I watched it twice the night it came out. The second time with a different group of friends who convinced me to go again. I had to run for drink refills so that they could watch it all. I came back in at one point right as he performed the "magic trick".
God I love that movie.

I hadn't even watched Batman Begins until the night before. I've always loved the fun aspect of the previous movies, so i didn't think I would enjoy a more serious Batman film.
Boy was I wrong.

i loved the Dark Knight, thought it was great and very well done and very true to the characters and story, they do think they did in the comic that they didn't do in previous appearances in the movies

Aaron Eckhart said he would play Two-Face again, so he didn't die at the end, guess he was put in arkham

I saw it once and have already booked tickets for 2 more showings (one of them in IMAX). This is the best batman movie yet (except perhaps the very first one).

I thank Christopher Nolan for rescuing a franchise that was completely ruined by Joel Schumacher
