Used to study and be a good boy. Then it just got tiring to work hard for little to no recognition and so that parents can get mad at you when you decide you don't want to put in all that effort to make things perfect. Meh, wasted all that effort on the easy courses of 'advanced' classes in elementary school, middle school, and the AP classes in high school.

And guess what? College is full of busywork too! Almost graduated and I can count on one hand all the useful, applicable things I learned after 4 years. It's just a giant beaurocratic hamster wheel designed to show big businesses that you can put up with their bullshit and work their minimal pay jobs they overwork you in.

I get the highest result in my class and out of all my exams in IPT, even though i sleep in class or use the computers to come on this very site.
Hey was this site blocked for you as well at some point recently but then unblocked or was that just a mad glitch at our school.

I'm also in the dreaded HSC boat and am currently procrastinating. I'm hoping a ridiculous amount of work in the holidays will make up for it though I really should start soon. Currently I'm doing very little. I can see this thread was made with boredom of study in mind.

The weird thing that occurred to me recently was that I did more work in primary school per week than I did in year 11. Blasted internet and its many distractions!

I try to put in at least 3hrs on a school night and 7hrs per day on a weekend.

This all adds up to 29hrs of study per week.
I feel so sorry for you.

My HSC begins in 5 weeks, so I'll begin studying then. Until then, I'll do what I've always done. Three guesses what that is.

Actually, yes it was unblocked. Only the articles and videos were available, the forums remained blocked. When i tried to go on today though i found that it was re blocked again...
Which was a shame, it means that i had to use another persons DET account that had more privileges to get onto the site (with the forums included!). So now i just do that, and get in any how. It was what i was doing during my free period today as well, cause everyone i hung out with vanished...

Well, I am taking a year out of college, but when I was there I did 0-5 hours a week. Still got a 2.1 though!

Went through all of high school and 4 years of college without studying once. I find it to be completely unnecessary and a waste of time.

Yay only 5 weeks to HSC!
Been putting in more than 30 hours or so a week. About 5 hours a day on a weekday and maybe 9 hours on a weekend.
Extention/Mathematics is most of my time.
Physics is a few hours a week.
Extention/Advanced English is far too time consuming.
Legal Studies requires no study.

Cannot wait til this is all over.

I barely study for any tests I have to take. I would much rather play video games.

Really though, I'm good at recalling certain information from memory rather than cramming a bunch of information into my head. When I get the test, I think back to when we were doing it and that basically gives me a way to separate it from everything else. It's hard to explain, so I'll just say I rarely study, rather just create a mental picture.

I've been at uni for a few years now. One thing I've noticed is that you can never complain about having too much work. Here a full time student does 4*12 credit point units per semester. Under my uni's reasoning, that mean you should do 12hrs of study for each subject. Now obviously noone does 48hrs each week, but it really does come in waves. The first 5-6 weeks you can bludge through without any study... weeks 7-10 can get really hectic.

I don't know how to answer how much do I study, don't know how anyone could. It's changes on a week by week basis.

At least two hours a night, but I'm only taking two 10-week classes right now and neither involves much beyond reading. Still- it's putting me behind in reading and gaming.

You have no idea what University does to your study habits. Admittedly mine weren't brilliant to begin with but, hell, I've given new meaning to 'cramming' on more occasions than I'd care to count.

[sub]With this in mind, I doubt I'd be a very good lawyer. You have been warned.[/sub]

About zero hours per day. Although, to be fair, I am only doing one subject this semester. So that effort is only mildly dismal.

When I was doing the Victorian equivalent of the HSC, I probably did somewhere between 3 and 5 hours a day. I was so sick of it by the end that a few days before my final exam I dusted off my old Xbox (I hadn't gotten the 360 yet) and played KoTOR . Fun times.

Currently I'm trying to get a Bachelor of Arts and get some decent grades along the way.

Not that I'm terribly familiar with the HSC, but the amount of study you're doing seems like alot. What are you trying for? If you don't mind me asking.

Not much at all... 4 classes... one we learn to type and send emails (no joke), one is programming, one is english where all we really have to turn in is a paper every 2-3 weeks, and the other class I have trouble paying attention in... electronic business or something...
