I've seen all of the movies, i think.. I Watched them because i had nothing better to do, can't say that i liked them very much and i don't really recall much of what happened during the movies except for the last one which i saw recently and it looked like something a high person would hallucinate, well maybe thats because i was drunk.

I read all but the last book and I've seen all but the final film. While one might think the lack of a conclusion after getting so far would be frustrating, I find myself not caring in the slightest how it ends at this point. Not sure why. I just got bored of it I guess.

Because I didn't have much to do, I decided to see all 8 movies... 2 years ago, I think? The first 2 movies are terrible, but the rest is decent. They didn't make me want to read the books, though.

Watched some, read none. Never got in to it, really. Stuck on my Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones; got the TV show of the latter and I would give literally anything for a film/TV series of WoT.

I've read all the books up to Phoenix in one go. Our local library didn't have the rest back then (since they didn't even come out yet), and I was busy with school, life and other stuff to care about them when they came out either.

I didn't watch the movies until Hallows part 2 came out, and even then I only watched the ones I didn't read. The only reason I know as much (if not more) about the series than even the average fan is because a good friend of mine was a huge fan and so I picked up a lot through simple osmosis.

Read it 3-4 times all the way through, seen all the films at least once. Kinda comes with having grown up with it. I was in second grade when the first book came out, and 19 when the last movie was released. You could say I grew up with Harry and co. Though every time I've revisited the books (reading them in sequence), I'm always struck by how much Rowling ramped up the angst factor in book 5. Just check for yourself, see how different Harry is in the beginning of book 5 compared to the final chapters of book 4.

The films were mostly okay, though they definitely couldn't compare to the books. I might have to watch it again, but I remember movie 6 actually being my favorite one, since that was the only time I remember feeling that they didn't just check all the central plot points off a list, but took it slow and let the atmosphere breathe.

I've read the seven books, watched the eight movies and I've taken a peak at a couple of wikis and articles since JK started fleshing out the Post-Voldemort universe. I'm waiting for the EU stuff to be collected in a physical book or books before I dive headfirst though to be honest...I'm just never on Pottermore (mainly because they dumped me in Slytherin when I see myself as more of a Ravenclaw). Pettiness aside though, I'm a bit trepidation about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movies...What I want is something along the lines of Walking with Dinosaurs or, March of the Penguins ie: A realistic documentary about magical creatures narrated by someone like Luna Lovegood or Newt Scamander himself (or his son...or grand-son...or great-grandson). What I don't want is the story of how Luna Lovegood meets said great/grand/son and how they fall in love and also magical creatures I guess, if you really want that.

I've read a few chapters of the first Potter book and returned it to the school library shortly after. I was in grade 6 when this occurred.

As for the movies, I only saw half of the first one before I thought of it as crap not worth my time. Also a very long time ago.

Main series here as I've not indulged in the outside stuff.

I've read all the books at least twice (the last three books may be three or four times each), and I've seen all the films.

I religiously watched the first two as a kid, I've only watched Goblet of Fire and OotP films twice each (fuck those films), only seen the two Deathly Hallow ones once each.

I don't much feel like returning to them, though, I just don't have much love for them as much as I'd like to say I do.

I've seen all of the films with the exception of the last one. I can't remember if I've seen that or not. Maybe I have but it wasn't very memorable.
Yeah, oddly enough I saw part 1 of Deathly Hallows, but still haven't seen part 2. I listened to all of the audiobooks, and found them enjoyable, though some particular plot devices they used started to annoy me a lot.

I think it was book 3, and everyone kept trying to tell Harry about Sirius Black, and he kept interrupting them "Yes yes, I know already", and then at the end, when the big reveal happens, Harry gets all mad and is like "Why didn't anyone tell me this?!?!" and I'm like "Asshole, they TRIED, you kept interrupting them!"

I know it's supposed to be his "angry teen phase" book, but damn she over used that particular plot device in my opinion.

I enjoyed the stories, but holy shit are the Hogwart's teachers:
1. Totally inept.
2. A direct hazard to their students.

This isn't anything new, as people have talked about how dangerous it is to actually be a child at that school, and how little effort the teachers put towards insuring their students don't die, but damn, it just gets comically insane as the books go on.

I read all the books, somewhat begrudgingly after I read Goblet of Fire and hated it. I really didn't like the direction Harry Potter went in after Prisoner of Azkaban. I watched a few of the movies, but I didn't really go out of my way to watch any of them after I was disappointed by the Prisoner of Azkaban movie.

I read all of it in primary school, and sorta grew up with Harry. I still think the books are brilliant, and the movies have their moments- no real comparison, though.

I was quite the fan. I read the books, read the spinoffs, watched the movies, went to the premieres, did all the stuff on her official website, bought the merchandise...

I don't exaggerate when I say I've read the series at least seven times (that's just when I stopped counting). I'm not as big of a fan now, since I've broadened my horizons and moved onto other things, but J.K. Rowling J.R.R. Tolkien both got me into reading as a kid, and made me want to be a writer. I do still have a strong emotional connection to the characters, and I enjoy re-reading her work from time to time, even if she does use too many adverbs. I'm curious what her new books are like, I may give therm a try.

HP basically singlehandedly won me over to reading, at age 10 or something?
I wasn't a big reader at first, but when my mom got the book for herself, I asked her to read some for me. Eventually I got fed up with the pace and read it for myself, and I never stopped.
At book 5 I started reading them in english because they weren't released in german yet, which helped me a lot in my developement, as well.

HP was definitely an important part of my childhood, and I wouldn't be the same without it.

I've read all of the Dresden Files. Even the side stories.
The TV show can go fuck itself.

I avoided reading them for years since it didn't seem like the kind of thing I'd enjoy, despite people telling me "its not just for kids". Eventually I was bored and decided to give them a go.

First three books I thought were okay - not great writing, but the plots were generally good (for children's books). I assumed as the material got more mature/darker they'd get better.
The Goblet of Fire I thought was just a colossal waste of time with its Tri-wizard championship and stupid Voldemort plot that made no sense.
With book 5 I gave up after about 1/3 as they were buggering around at a Quidditch tournament for no discernible reason.

I've seen all the movies, read none of the books, not much of a reader and I don't have that much time.

Have to say I really enjoyed the first 5, but refuse to watch the last 3 movies again. The last one was especially shit.

I've only seen the movies, and none of them in theaters. It's strange, but just at some point or another I've seen each of the movies except the very last one (Deathly Hallows 2). I dunno, they're decent enough I suppose but so full of little plot holes and contrivances that I just can't get super into them.
