Well, I'm sure they wouldn't mind you joining the Publisher's Club for $20.

Do that and the ads will never bother you again on this site, even the ones at the top and bottom of the page. Plus you'll get some neat new things, like a custom title, higher quality videos and a private forum for Pub Club members amongst other things.

So technically yes, you can pay The Escapist to not show you ads. I'd advise you to do that if you can afford it. If not, well...live with what makes the site its money and stops them forcing us all to pay for a membership.

I actually looked quite seriously at the counter display of Slim Jims at the gas station. I turned it over in my mind, "If I buy these, will it make the ads go away? ... No, it will make them continue." So I didn't buy it.

I have watched that f'ing commercial 5 times in an hour! It's not even well done. The acting is cheesy and it plays like an 80's super soaker commercial. Can't I watch it once & be done with it for the day? What's so wrong with watching multiple videos that you feel the need to punish me? Can I pay the Escapist to NOT show the Slim Jim commercial ever again?

It looks like one of those NERF commercials you would see playing during Toonami to me.

Publisher's Club or shut up and accept it. Advertisements let the Escapist not charge everyone for what they have.

I dislike that argument with a buring hatred. It's $20 for no ads and a custom title, cool, throw in something else and it might be worth $15 instead of charging $20 for something that really doesn't change much.

I Call Horse Shit! Having Advertisements is fine in fact it's a very productive way to do buisness. But the advertisement doesn't have to be in your face force watch! They try to portray the publisher's club as this holy object that protects you from commercials (extra content aside), but to me it falls flat because there is no reason why they have to stop the movie and shove this ABSOLUTLY FUCKING TERRIBLE slim-jim advertisement down your throat.

Okay they have header, footer, and background taken fine! But how about pop-ups so it only takes 3 seconds for me to hit x, (hehe press x to not die) or the bug in the lower right of the video, or remove one of the 5 highlighted forum threads and replace it there. The publisher's club is all well and good but frankly the only other video site i have visited that forces commercials before content is Rooster Teeth, all other sites have managed just fine with out it. Youtube! The force content on that is restricted to the author of the video, again rooster teeth, not youtube it's self.

The reason it plays like an 80's super soaker commercial is possibly because it IS one. Well, minus the super soaker part. . . and also possibly mid ninties. I used to look after kids on Saturdays back then. . . and the kids were addicted to Kid's WB cartoons. I swear to god that EXACT commercial played almost every commercial break. It's been 10 years, sure, but my memory isn't THAT bad. If it isn't the exact same commercial, its parts of it or directly modeled after it. I remember those kid's voices for sure. . . as well as the stupid sounds of them killing ninjas.

Anybody else recall this commercial from WAY back? Surely I am not the only one. . .
