All things considered I'm not actually that much of a nerd. I'm not all that into anime or manga, I play video games in reasonable moderation, and I'm a pretty chatty person. That said, academically I am pretty damn nerdy, especially when it comes to science.

I'm a bit of a secret geek, people don't really know or believe it when they realise. It also gets forgotten. Of, course i've met some a major geeks in certain circles and I there is no comparison.

I shall describe myself as Moderate Secret Geek.

I am pretty nerdy, I've tried everything from D&D to Magic the Gathering to Warhammer 40,000 and Star Trek and more anime shows than you could name. Oh, and I own the original Battlestar Galactica series from the 70s on DVD, as well as an original 512 MB iPod Shuffle. I also own anime figures and signed Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman books, in one case Good Omens which they both collaborated on which is signed by both of them.

I also paid to see Star Wars Episode 1 and when I saw it as a kid I LOVED Jar Jar Binks.

I'm a bit of a nerd: I like sci fi, science (but I can't study anything scientific because I suck balls with numbers, well maybe sociology or anthropology...o well, university is too high for me anyway) and a bit of anime. Strangely enough, I find gaming becoming less and less interesting by the day. For some reason I just can't enjoy myself with it anymore. But then again, I barely enjoy anything nowadays. My social skills aren't awkward or something (although the idea of actually being with a girl makes me nervous and scary as hell, but I still want to) and I can talk with people fairly easy, but I still barely leave my room. O well, I'll just choose that I'm a medium-nerd.

But seriously. No one can ever decide what games you can play if you're to be called a nerd. No one.

I would say I'm a fairly nerd. Wich suits my career perfectly. Because I don't have to be very social at work, and I can say I only have time for close friends and family when at home. Perfect fit.

When I'm at home (four months out of twelve) I'd say I use about 45% of the time gaming. It's true. Now. I'll have to state that when I talk about me being a nerd, I have to specify that I mean a gamer nerd. I've played games ever since I was. 6? 5? At least since I first understood how to use a commodore.

I've had three different stationary computers, and one laptop. I've owned a SNES, Nintendo 64, Wii, PS1,2 & 3. I've had a GBC. I think I have a total of 4 controllers for the PS2 and Nintendo 64. I've also played a lot on the following consoles. Haven't owned them, but someone close has. First off. Not really a console, but. Commodore. Amiga 65(?). Gamecube. Xbox 360. (I know this is not nearly very impressive, but I'd still say it could be used to define me as kind of a geek.

I guess I'm a fairly decent nerd.
I play a lot of games, but when someone asks me to come out, or go do something etc, something away from the computer and/or console, I happily do it.

Also, I maintain the kind of "cool guy" image.
Well, I mean, I never show almost ANYone that I'm a nerd. I also know a lot more about all sorts of technology than anyone I know, but I only talk about games and/or technology about people who have the same interests.

I could only be nerdier if I played WoW or tabletop games (which I will never do).

I'm only moderately nerdy. I'm a history buff and a gamer but I can't stand comic books or movies based on them, I've no patience for people who do vector calculus for fun, and I'd rather watch sports than MST3K.

It points back to high school with me; I was a jock first and only discovered nerdy stuff in earnest after I got hurt. That's not to say I wasn't a gamer even back then, I just preferred sports games to RPGs.
